I’ve had this exact burger at the original, Taurus Ox location, but this spot is an offshoot set up essentially specifically to sell this burger, since it’s so popular.
It’s pretty much the same as I remember – fantastic as always.
This is a very unique burger. It doesn’t adhere to the age-old traditions of what a burger should look like. It’s a burger that fuses Asian and Western cuisines to provide an experience that you won’t find anywhere else.
There are so many good parts to this. The buns are toasted really well, and super soft. Of course – the meat is great – achieving a very nice browning on both patties. They are smashed patties, so very thin, but still packed with flavor. The pork belly at the bottom also makes up a huge portion of the taste profile
The cheese is melted perfectly, and the mayo is great too, but what really makes this burger is the abundance of pickled red onions. These add a mix of sweetness and sourness that balances the rich, fatty meats and cheese excellently. It truly feels like a full flavor experience in each bite.
If I had a downside, like how I felt when I tried the original burger, it’s that the beef patties are just too thin. If I didn’t know any better, I’d think this was just a single patty. Compared to the amount of other ingredients, and the thickness of the buns, there just isn’t enough to the beef patties here.
For around $20, this is a very expensive burger – especially since fries aren’t even included in that total.
Overall, I really like this burger, but there are a couple things preventing it from being the best in the city. 9/10

Picked up burgers and fries on a Tuesday at lunchtime. I had the Lao Burger on a GF bun (I ordered mine with no pork). SO GOOD!! My husband and parents absolutely LOVED their Deluxe smash burgers, cheeseburger, and fries. My husband said they were the best fries he’s EVER had!
The Jaew Bong Mayo is INSANE. Spicy, limey, creamy… The most delicious SE Asian burger sauce of your dreams.

Came into town for a appt and stopped by Ox Burger on a whim. Best decision ever! Had a bacon burger and chicken sandwich. Both delicious, served hot and fresh! Then yo too the meal off we got a warm fresh house made chocolate chip cookie! Best part of the meal. Don’t skip a cookie!!!

Ox burger is a small cozy restaurant decorated with live plants. I loved the atmosphere. You order at the counter and then they bring you your food, and you bus your own dishes.
They have a killer happy hour menu, 50% off beer and $6 burgers. We didn’t realize the great deal and we had ordered ten minutes before happy hour was to start. Sad, but we’ll have to try it again next time.
We all ordered the famous Lao burger, fries were an extra charge($7), as well as the sauce($2)The amount of fries were enough for two people, thankfully, because they were a little pricy. The burger was also pricy as well ($18).
But everything was worth it. The burger was different, a good tasting different flavor burger. I enjoyed the jaew bong mayo, and the cilantro gave it such a unique flavor. I can’t wait to try their other burgers .

Ox Burger is always a win! Love that they’ve expanded to a full restaurant but still kept this spot as the cozy, no-frills burger joint we fell in love with. This time we tried the Deluxe and the Chicken Sandwich — both were excellent — but the Lao Burger still absolutely slaps. The fries are crispy, addictive (and even reheat perfectly in the air fryer ), and they’ve got a solid selection of hazy IPAs to wash it all down. 10/10, highly recommend!

I found this place after searching for a delicious burger place on Google. The burgers were a bit pricey, but the portions were generous. And the fries were extra crispy. The burger was so big I couldn’t finish it all and had to pack it away. I’ll definitely go back again if I get the chance!

I’ve been coming to Ox burger for the past year and every time I go, it’s consistently amazing. One of the best smash burgers I’ve ever had and I love the happy hour deals as well. The inside is a little small but I’ve never had an issue getting a seat and they always get my food out to me fast. 🙂

Great experience from beginning to end! The guy at the counter is so nice and patient. Kindly explains the menu to everyone like it’s your first time, which I appreciated, as it was mine! I had a happy hour smash burger, fries and the cookie! Everything was delicious and fresh. I sat at the bar and watched the kitchen doing their thing, everyone was having a good time and was overall a great vibe(and great playlist). Can’t wait to come back and try more burgers!

One of the best burgers in Seattle. Perfect smash patties, salty and greasy. The place is on the smaller side in terms of seating but usually it’s easy enough to find a spot. The folks that serve food are always friendly and the food comes out fast. As a burger lover, I’ve made this my birthday dinner treat several years now and always leave happy.
