Who knew that the tiny, tucked away town of Milton has the best sushi around in a tiny downtown location that you might walk right by if not paying attention. I’m a huge fan of fancy, delicious dining experiences (I call them culinary adventures) and this was top tier!! Presentation was so over the top gorgeous, an absolute piece of art on the plate! And the tastes and flavors were insane! Best sushi experience I’ve ever had. I was blown away by the way they incorporated unique flavors and used a torch to gently sear some pieces. The staff were all friendly and inviting as well. Easily accommodated a food allergy and made it an amazing dining experience. If you’re reading this looking for a place to eat nearby, good news, you can stop searching! You found it! You’re not gonna wanna miss this

LAGO in Milton is a gem. The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming, the staff are personable, and the service is excellent.
The place was full, but didn’t feel crowded.
I started with a huge bowl of miso soup that was perfectly balanced—not too salty—with large chunks of tofu. The best I’ve ever had. The seaweed salad was generous and delicious, and the sushi itself was creative, fresh, and beautifully prepared.
A wonderful experience all around. I will definitely be going back.

Lago hits the sweet spot between fresh, creative Asian flavors and a laid‑back small‑town vibe. The sushi and Asian dishes are consistently well made—fresh fish, balanced rolls, and flavors that feel thoughtful without being overdone. The West Coast sunshine and Hairy Mexican Rolls are outstanding.
It’s a bit on the smaller side and fills up quick, but well worth the trip.

I got the samurai roll…but I’m happy to find sushi in small town of Milton
Bit overpriced for the area $19

Ordered takeout as a first try for this place.
Agree that sushi is fresh, but overall combination of sauces on specialty rolls not optimal (mayonaise on west coast sunshine). fried rice was very average and too salty (could have done better myself) too much soy sauce (perhaps they should consider using NONE). I did appreciate that they do use sesami oil in their fried rice though.
Overall not good value for the money, but then again neither was Saketumi a few weeks ago. Southern De needs better Sushi that isn’t located in the crowded parking scarce Rehoboth

Lago is hands down one of the best sushi restaurants I’ve ever been to! From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted with warm smiles and an inviting atmosphere. The servers here are absolutely wonderful — they’re attentive, friendly, and make you feel like a valued guest every time. Everyone on staff goes above and beyond to ensure your dining experience is perfect.
And the food? Incredible. The sushi is fresh, beautifully presented, and packed with flavor. The shrimp tempura roll is a must-try — it’s perfectly crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and the flavors blend so well. It’s easily one of the best rolls I’ve ever had.
If you’re looking for amazing sushi paired with exceptional service, Lago is definitely the place to go.

I don’t know if my friend and I came here on a bad day, but neither of us were impressed with the food. We both had small plate items from the menu. The fried rice was terrible (sorry to say). My friend said her meal wasn’t bad, but wasn’t really all that good either. When I went home after dining at Lago, I retained the bad odor that was in the restaurant and food. I had to shower and wash my hair because I smelled like something rancid. I know a lot of people who’ve eaten at Lago and were very pleased with the food so I’m hoping this was just a one-time thing. If not, I hope the food improves because this restaurant is a nice addition to the Town of Milton.

Best new sushi discovery in Sussex County. Atmosphere was top notch. Staff were friendly and made you feel like family. Pricing is reasonable and ingredients are fresh. Sure beats dealing with Rehoboth traffic and rising prices. Check Lago out!

We loved our lunch at Lago. Our waitress, Chrissy was excellent and very knowledgeable about the menu. We ordered the two chicken dishes under small plates and it was quite plentiful. The dishes were prepared with care and the flavors and spices were wonderful. We also had pan fried dumplings which were delicious. We will definitely be back!

Great food but this place will NOT last long. My husband and I live in Milton. We’ve been so excited to try this restaurant in our little town and finally got a date night away from the kids. We showed up at 8:15pm on a FRIDAY NIGHT and the hostess immediately looked at her watch (first red flag). The entire time we were eating they were mopping and cleaning. At 8:30pm the server said the sushi bar was about to close. Not cool. If you advertise that you’re open until 9pm then you give your guests the best experience until then. Very disappointed with how they pushed us out. As a new restaurant you should be MORE than happy to serve your guests at whatever time they walk in. We will not be back. Instead we will go into Rehoboth for Sting Ray or Cultured Pearl.
