Stopped at Mama’s Thai Cafe on our way home from Michigans Adventures for some really awesome food. I got the Pad Se-Ew (N2) and my hubs got the Peanut Curry Pad Thai (N5). We chose this restaurant in particular because they could cater towards our food allergies. Theirs a ton of Gluten Free options and the prices are really good for what you get. The Egg Drop soup was way different than what I’m used to but absolutely delicious and definitely a positive addition to the dinner meal. Our server was a bit too occupied and wasn’t great about getting our drinks or refills. My food was warm and not hot, like it had been waiting for a bit but it was so good I’m not complaining lol. The atmosphere was kinda crammed and not too fancy but it felt welcoming and definitely served its purpose. 10/10 would highly recommend and we definitely will be back in the future!

Good quality and flavor. Tons of noodles in the pad Thai. One order with shrimp had sufficient amount. Other order with chicken could use more of everything but noodles. Order with chicken was requested to be “hot” spice level but I did not experience any heat.
I look forward to trying Mama’s again and a different meal.

Newer front of house isn’t as inviting anymore. They seem very unenthusiastic. It could have been the time we went and they were tired, or they’re always like that, I’m not sure. We were the only ones in there and it still took a while for our food and our server never came back to our table again except to take the check that the other front of house gave us. I hope they can turn this place around again. They used to have good food and good service.

OMG! The food at Mama’s Thai Cafe is so delicious. Flavorful, fresh, aromatic, and yummy. We’ve eaten there three times in the last two weeks because we can’t get enough. Last night we got two of their coconut curries, G3 (Gang Keaw Waan) and G6 (Gang Peanut Curry); we got them with chicken but you can get them with lots of other proteins. Super fresh vegetables in a creamy coconut sauce that’s just perfectly sweet as well as perfectly spicy and flavorful. The meal started off with an egg drop soup which is heavenly each time. Lots of folks were coming in for take out orders and there were only about 4 tables taken with eat in customers. It’s nice to see a family run business putting out delicious food to happy customers at a reasonable price with excellent service. Couldn’t be happier.

Great server, but food is not good. We were attracted by the good google review and thought to try it out. The warning started at the entrance, the dining room is not inviting. The carpet needs to be clean. Menu was simple and the descriptions were great help. We waited a bit, but soon enough our food came in. The soup was cold and without flavour. After, our dishes came full of sauce, the vegetables and shrimp were not fully cooked. It honestly made me regret getting a pad Thai for the first time ever.

Typical strip mall eatery, nothing special here. Came for the Pho and was disappointed. Bean sprouts old and soggy, the broth was anemic, not rich and heartening. Beef was overcooked and chewy.
The summer roll was OK, but the sweet Chile sauce was drippy and watered down.
It takes a real talent to make good Pho, and they don’t have it. Won’t be back, at least not for the Pho.

Update:
Went back recently and we had pot stickers, chicken satay, chicken fried rice and chicken yellow curry pad Thai; all were very good and staff was very friendly.
Very good for lunch!! Ate lunch there for the first time yesterday and was very happy, price was reasonable and the staff was super friendly. I had the egg drop soup which has cabbage in it and the tofu Gang Peanut Curry. I will definitely go back!

Top notch Thai food in Michigan. Pad See Ew is the best I’ve had yet. This spot is what you want in a Thai restaurant. Quick service, friendly staff, and good prices. Enjoy the non flashy interior with lots of character and know the staff in the kitchen is focused on creating delicious dishes. Worth the drive from Grand Rapids.

Decent little place, but I’m giving some lower marks because my daughter really disliked her meal.
I got the 10-4 (drunken noodles) with shrimp.
It was really good.
The shrimp spring rolls were also good.
The egg drop soup was different from what I’ve had before. It was ok.
The diet Coke was really flat.

Great pad Thai ! Thai tea was fantastic as well. Only thing I would change would be more sauce in the veggie coconut curry. Overall great service that was fast and easy.
