Had the pleasure of dining here yesterday and we absolutely loved it. The entire staff was so kind. Recommendations were awesome and spot on. I didn’t eat or drink anything that I didn’t enjoy. Their veggie quesadilla was phenomenal. I hate going to Mexican restaurants and being served the same bean and cheese or grilled veggie option for vegetarians. But this place had a delicious spinach and mushroom option that had so much flavor, I was pleasantly surprised. We (unknowingly) were being served by the owner of business, and kept saying amongst ourselves how gracious the server was…all to find out at the end of our meal, his name is David and he is the owner. Hard to find places with great food AND great hospitality these days, but I would highly recommend Tinga! We will be back. I already can’t wait! 🙂

Tinga has been around for over 20+ years. The food and ambience here is consistently excellent. I ordered a steak fajita to go and it was superb! Came along with salsa, tortilla wraps, rice and beans, sour cream and lettuce. Highly recommend

Found this Mexican restaurant by accident while originally heading elsewhere. Ate dinner on their colorful patio with plants. The server was friendly and quick, and I really enjoyed the meatless Nachos Grande and creamy Jalapeno Poppers. The Vegetarian Tinga Chili Burrito was decent, and the Avocado Frita Tacos were a bit bland until we added tomato salsa, which made them taste awesome. The House Salad was disappointing and not worth $7.75. Overall, I was pleased with the service and taste. Prices are moderate, averaging around $30 or more.

We have been eating here(Tinga Upper Montclair) for 15 years and it’s by far the best, most delicious burrito ever. Every single time we come the burritos are extremely fresh and delicious!! sometimes when a place has food over the years it changes BUT NOT TINGA! we moved out of town and still come back for the burritos! the fresh homemade guacamole is also sooo good! the owner is so kind and the chefs have been there since the start which truly has kept the food is consistently delicious! thank you!

What a fantastic dining experience! We had a most wonderful host who welcomed us and told us about the menu. The food was fantastic! Do yourself a favor and get the BBQ tacos or the burrito. Delicious, flavorful, filling. Great food. Great people. Great atmosphere. Highly recommend!
