High Hopes, Flat Delivery
I visited The Crab Gallery with high expectations. The setup initially seems promising—they have fresh fish fillets on display, clearly labeled, and the staff mentions they can be prepared to your liking. However, despite the impressive display of raw product, the execution in the kitchen was a massive letdown.
The Menu
The menu is surprisingly short, which I usually take as a good sign that a restaurant focuses on doing a few things perfectly. Unfortunately, that isn’t the case here.
The Meal
I ordered the haddock fish sandwich. What I received was:
* Poorly Fried: The fish was greasy and lacked any sort of crunch or seasoning.
* Bad Presentation: The fillet looked like it had been smashed into the bun.
* Zero Flavor: Even with the lettuce, tomato, and onion, the sandwich was completely bland.
The Bottom Line
I’m not sure what is happening with the “state of fish” in Maryland lately, but when the quality and presentation are this poor at a specialty shop, there is a serious problem. If you are looking for a flavorful, well-prepared seafood meal, keep driving. I won’t be visiting again.

I loved the crabs! I happened to get the Crab Monsters—bigger than jumbo and true to size. They were absolutely huge and delicious. I eat crabs often, and these did not disappoint. The seasoning wasn’t spread evenly at first, but after shaking the bag a bit, it balanced out perfectly—not too salty, which I appreciate. Every single crab was cooked just right—no bad ones in the bunch. I’ll definitely be back for a dozen. They were a lot, but totally worth it!

Overall decent crabs. I purchased the X-Large. Their prices are higher but I’m a true crab lover and the location was convenient. There’s a wait even if you called in and allowed 30 mins. So be prepared to wait.

Went to bowie location after calling ahead near end of the day on 12/24 for jumbo or cave monsters after arriving home had wrong order called they were closed .Called the next open day spoke with very rude woman who hung up phone i explained i paid for jumbo received smalls even told her i took pictures of everything and four were dark green and hollow inside she said well and hung up ,not before admitting they did get an order mixed up at the end of the night. Mistakes happen but to be that dismissive, rude and hang up ridiculous .I have heard so much hype about the odenton location perhaps i should have went there when i called odenton and explained my problem at 12:15 pm today 12/26 the gentleman was very apologetic. This was for me a very long ,disappointing,experience that got amplified but rudeness and disrespect and i am out of a couple hundred bucks .Save yourself a trip maybe skip bowie and slam your tongue in a door ,give yourself the finger and keep your money.Iwish i could minus stars.Disrespect makes things worse

(These are extra large male crabs in this picture) They were Delicious!! Well flavored and juicy! And the staff was friendly, and worked efficiently to make sure everyone going the line at the time received their order! I will definitely visit again. Stay Safe!!!

We purchased jumbo crabs and ended up with quite a few regular size crabs. For $169 per dozen, we should not have had that issue. The seasoning was not distributed properly. Some crabs had a pound of season while others had none.
The service is excellent. The people are friendly and personable. The facility needs some TLC.
