Amazing food! This place is awesome, cool little restaurant with a tiny bar. Highly recommend calling ahead for food as they made everything to order. I hadn’t been before and sat down for a bite to eat. Food took a little while but every waiting minute was worth it! You can tell they really care about quality and presentation. I got the friend plantains, oxtail entree with a side of white rice and potatoes & Chana. Couldn’t put down my fork… definitely a place worth checking out!

When I first walked in I was greeted and told that they were short on staff. I was perfectly fine with that because as a Caribbean myself I know the food will take a while to cook so it can be fresh. The atmosphere was really nice and I enjoyed the Caribbean feel of it all. They took our order as soon as we came in and told us the time on how long it would take, so if you plan to come here and dine-in, I would advise you to be prepared to wait. Once the food came out it was beautifully displayed and really good. I enjoyed the experience and would definitely come back.

As for the food…It warms your heart, heightens your taste buds, and will have you coming back for more.
Sorry I didn’t take photos, I was too hungry and the food looked delicious. But I did take a photo of leftovers. I had curry chicken, rasta pasta, and plantains. Excuse the picture because the presentation was amazing.

We’re in love with Island Cho and its ability to bring the best authentic Caribbean cuisine to North Haven! Family/woman owned you can feel the love in all the dishes.
Naturally, we wanted to try the things that aren’t readily offered anywhere else so we indulged in beef patty, shrimp, wrapped in plantains, curry, dishes, sushi – yes sushi, fried chicken, and all the amazing side dishes that complement the leading star of each plate.
They do serve wine and beer, which if you’re like me, you always appreciate a good wine pairing with a local dish.
The service is highly personal and great! If you’re looking for an intimate and tasty experience, stop reading and GO!

From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere felt like a true Caribbean escape, warm, vibrant, and full of life. You could tell this was a family-run spot where the food is made with love and tradition. I ordered the oxtail sushi roll (yes, you read that right!) and it was absolutely excellent, tender, flavorful, and so creative. My friend got the jerk pork and the portion was massive. The mac & cheese that came with it? To die for. Creamy, cheesy, and perfectly seasoned. This place is a hidden gem and definitely one of those restaurants where you feel like family the second you sit down. Can’t wait to come back!

To start off it’s nice to see Caribbean restaurants upcoming in our communities. I’m all for embracing and bringing our foods into new customs.
The food even though it looks aesthetically pleasing, it was overall decent, I think it lacked the Caribbean love and spice. I expected more especially from the reviews. To be fair the chicken wings were phenomenal and the flavor that was brought out is what I expected in the rest of our meals. I do want to say I think it’s a little unfortunate that we went there for the Oxtails and Curry Goat, however it was not available, when it’s a staple and part of their main dishes.
Service overall lacked communication and consistency. I see the potential and I do believe they can work a little more together to bring better quality to the service and food.
The restaurant itself is beautiful and well kept, it felt like home with traditional soca and dancehall in the background, but I do say they can lower it a touch so people are still able to enjoy and mingle among each other.
