We had an excellent experience at Commune! We loved the cozy atmosphere and relaxed vibe of the space. The wine list has a lot of variety and the food menu was curated perfectly for either small bites or a meal. Service was very attentive and friendly with great wine suggestions. We will definitely be back!

My friend and I recently visited and had a frustrating experience with the service. At the bar, we pointed to the only Syrah that we saw available on the menu ($56) and clearly said we wanted the bottle. After we were seated, the bartender came to our table holding two bottles (not sure why she would even present two bottles when we pointed to the one we wanted) and asked if we wanted the one available by the glass or if we wanted to do the bottle. We reiterated what we had already said at the bar which was that we wanted the bottle.

The way it was presented made it seem like the second bottle she was holding was simply the bottle option, not that it was an entirely different wine from the one we had pointed to on the menu. When the bill arrived, we were charged $82. I politely mentioned to our server that we had ordered the $56 bottle.

Instead of acknowledging that there may have been a miscommunication, the bartender immediately came to our table defensive and argumentative, insisting that we ordered the other bottle and going back and forth with us at the table. The price difference wasn’t the issue and miscommunications happen. What made the situation disappointing was the lack of accountability and the confrontational approach rather than simply addressing it with good customer service.

Unfortunately, interactions like that make it difficult to feel comfortable returning or even trust in an establishment.

This place was has cool ambience and the dj was playing great music. Service started slow but overall our server took great care of us. The tomatoes and burrata were good, the broccolini was amazing, the pasta was ok, kinda overcooked. They have interesting wine options. I would come back.

welp, im never coming here again. we had reservations for valentines day and showed up early super excited to finally check the place out. the moment we walked in though, the waitress we had gave us a strange attitude right away (she was wearing a red getup but never got her name). we tried to shrug it off to a bad day though, and i asked her when the band would start, to which she responded “you’ve got 2 hours before we need to flip the table”. incredibly strange thing to say to paying customers who came to enjoy live music. once we ordered, she came over what felt like every 10 minutes, asking if we wanted more food or drinks, clearly trying to rush us or push more sales. this wasn’t attentiveness or care, it was intrusive and honestly started to feel like harassment after about attempt #4. i counted 10 total visits to our table in under 2 hours. for a place that’s supposed to be abut relaxing and listening to great audio, it felt completely at odds with the supposed concept. on top of all that, we were charged a cover fee that was never mentioned, which was a surprising spit in the face after the service we received. they also tried charging us both twice for the cover charge, making the bill nearly $50 over what it should have been before we caught the error. the final cherry on top was me trying to record the band (which was awesome btw), and the waitress kept leaning over our table in front of the shot, almost like it was intentional. the whole atmosphere was tense and the service was incredibly pushy and disrespectful. it felt really shady, i don’t really understand the point of a listening bar that rushes you out before the music even starts. definitely would not recommend anyone come here until they get their employees in better shape to properly do their job.

Love having a wine bar and listening room in the neighborhood. It’s become a regular spot because the food is always incredible (don’t skip the cheesecake) and the music is always vibey. The wide range of DJ’s and genre’s makes it feel new and exciting every time we pop in.

We arrived wanting to love Commune. The concept/space is fab, Atlanta sorely needs a listening bar with a curated music experience. We didn’t find it here though, the execution and customer experience fell flat from start to finish.

Service was essentially nonexistent. We were seated in a booth right next to the bar and yet it was like the servers were actively avoiding eye contact. We eventually had to flag down our server to get her attention.

Of the dishes we tried, the “green beans” (cannellini beans with pesto) and focaccia were the clear standout. The hibiscus blood orange tea was lovely. Everything else was forgettable and underwhelming for the price point.

We came specifically for a particular DJ and to hear specific genres of music, and what we found instead was a playlist over speakers. It would’ve been fine had expectations for something completely different not been set from the start.

Right now, Commune feels like another high-gloss low-care spot chasing aesthetics over substance. Which was a major bummer because the raw ingredients for something special are here.

Commune is my favorite spot in Atlanta, period. I’ve been visiting regularly for about a year and a half, and there is no better atmosphere/vibe in the city. The music is always fantastic, and is always at a perfect conversation volume. The food changes almost every time I visit, keeping things fresh, and if I don’t like something, it’s gone by the next time. I’ve never had a bad drink here; the wine selection is perfect. It’s a little bit of a spend, but absolutely worth it. The live performances are also always wonderful, too. If you’re not afraid of eating by yourself, it’s a great place to do so. The people I’ve talked to while sitting at the bar have always been lovely. Great date night spot too. Sincerely, this place is perfect.

Wife and I have been to Commune a couple times, and it is becoming one of our favorite spots. It’s got a great, chill vibe that’s unique in Atlanta. Always phenomenal music. Extensive wine list of well-curated, approachable wine, and I like the fact that their food menu is small, but ever-changing and done well. We had the Oysters Rockefeller and the Duck Confit yesterday, and they were both excellent (the potatoes that came with the duck were absolutely phenomenal…never thought I’d say that about potatoes). Staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and professional. Just a great overall place.

Our experience at this establishment was very disappointing, and responses to reviews demonstrate the passive aggressiveness and entitlement of the employees here. The ambiance was beautiful and the food and wine were quite good. But the attitudes my party received from the wait staff unfortunately completely overshadowed this.

We are 22 year old college students who were looking for an elevated experience for my friend‘s birthday. At Commune we were ridiculed for not being familiar with wine and not treated with the respect you’d expect as paying customers. Wait staff first made a passive aggressive comment about something we didn’t know, then told us to “Google it” when we wanted to learn. I can understand frustrations from the staff if a group is rowdy or rude. However, our whole party was polite, light-hearted, and respectful throughout the strange interactions we had with the staff, yet did not receive the same grace in return.

The suggestion in the owner‘s now-deleted response to one of my other party members’ review that a group of 6 people would drive an hour outside of Atlanta to a wine bar to use fake IDs is ridiculous. What is even more insane is that if we were underage, they are admitting to serving us regardless. You can see that the owner is clearly enabling toxicity if you scroll down to some of their snarky responses to other reviews. I would absolutely not recommend visiting if you want the friendly service you’d expect at this price point and style of bar.

Commune fills a very special niche in the metro ATL dining scene, and the passion that goes into curating their events/food+bar program is palpable. It’s clear the team is happy to be there and serve; the thought & intention that goes into their programming is commendable!! Every visit has been memorable and personable, with something new to be offered each time. A true third space and valuable addition to a neighborhood that cares deeply about local art and culture! So excited for what’s in store for them and thankful to have this spot in my rotation. Recommend the “green beans” dish & steak au poivre, divine. The wine list changes frequently, servers seem genuinely stoked to discuss new offerings and answer questions, just awesome and engaging. Unpretentious, tongue-in-cheek, approachable wine list (+ an expansive reserve list!) offers great breadth w/ something for everyone. Steps of service leave little to be desired and it’s always a treat getting to bring more and more new friends around to experience this spot for the first time. You don’t have to worry about impressing anyone you bring here–Commune masterfully curates a unique atmosphere of polish, verve, and an eye for quirk and fun. I’ve come here on first dates as well as with groups/celebrations with close old friends and everyone always leaves happy. If you care about music, wine, food, communion (eponymous!), swing by on a night that piques your interest.
Parking is a breeze + wheelchair accessible. They do encourage reservations as it’s an intimate space but we were seated as walkins with a very short wait (full service bar is great too)
