This is a cool ambiance place, stiff drink bar, very lovely. This is not a good to eat place, however the sushi and Thai place next door has super good food and they bring to the bar! Bar is great with that exception, lovely music to add!.

I have to say how much I love Freeman Barrel House! I hosted a small company happy hour here, and Julie was incredibly accommodating and easy to work with. She even let me bring in a few extra snacks, though honestly the cheese boards were so good they weren’t even necessary. Thank you, Julie, for making it such a great experience!

I came in for a nightcap, Jameson neat with a coke back. Was not greeted upon entering and it definitely was not busy. After about 5-7 minutes, Julie finally asked what I was having. Finished my drink cause the atmosphere was pretty lackluster, I had to get up because her back was to everyone as she dried glasses and stored them, and requested my check. That ONE Jameson neat cost me ELEVEN dollars. Are you kidding me? This place is bogus.

Milwaukee’s newest gem…I walked in and was greeted by a cozy atmosphere and amazing cocktails. We had an espresso martini and a margarita – both delish (I didn’t try the food). I would say it’s great for date night or girls night out.

*update place is still legit. Good selection on tap and by bottle. Have foods now but I hadn’t tried it but looks really tasty. Galaga is free still so that’s really all that matters.

My husband and I have been to Freeman semi-regularly. Julie, who we believe is the owner or one of the owners, always greets us with a warm smiling welcome, and even remembers our (somewhat persnickety) orders. Recommend the charcuterie plates for value; quality snack dinner for two. I appreciate the reasonably-priced noshies like nuts and olives, which so many bars no longer feature. The Thai restaurant next door will even deliver food to your Freeman table, so with a bottle of wine or beer, you are set for dinner. Let’s support Freeman– a pleasant little lounge where the music is never too loud, the classic movies above the bar do not intrude, and the bartenders deliver.

Hidden gem in Milwaukie! My friend and I went for the first time tonight because I saw it on Google Maps. The owner was awesome, made us delicious cocktails and a charcuterie board while we caught up on one of the loungers. Warm and inviting atmosphere and will definitely be back again.
