Stopped for a late lunch at the Mayfield, Ohio location. No wait. Friendly waitress. Ordered the Red Bomb and added eggs and a bowl of steamed rice. Mixed cajun and garlic butter sauce, medium spice level.

Upon arrival, the host seated us promptly. However, our server took an inordinate amount of time to take our order. Once she finally did, she took another 30 minutes to deliver our drinks, repeatedly forgetting mine despite everyone else at the table receiving theirs. The food arrived just as slowly, despite the restaurant being relatively empty with about 20 people. Even after our food arrived, the server still forgot my drink, which I received when I was nearly halfway done with my meal. She also consistently forgot my child’s broccoli. The server’s forgetfulness and lack of attention were notable, as she rarely checked on us to ensure everything was satisfactory.
Fortunately, the food was excellent, with each dish prepared well, fresh, hot, and flavorful. However, the king crab legs were somewhat small for the price, especially compared to other restaurants offering larger legs for the same cost.
The atmosphere was acceptable, although the lighting was minimal, making the restaurant feel overly dark. The nautical decorations were a nice touch, evoking the feeling of being on a sailboat, but more lighting would be beneficial.

MyKia truly elevated my dining experience—night and day compared to past visits. She was warm, attentive, and incredibly knowledgeable about the menu, which impressed me even more once I learned she’s only been on the job for three days!
I ordered the Dungeness Crab and the catfish basket. The crab was her recommendation, and I’m so glad I took it—never going back to snow crab again! It was meatier, easier to eat, and just a few dollars more. Totally worth it.
The catfish basket, while cooked well, lacked a bit of flavor for my taste. I personally prefer a crispier breading. The sweet potato fries, on the other hand, were excellent.
The vibe of the restaurant is always a plus. The mix of old-school and contemporary R&B plays at just the right volume—perfect for conversations or casual business meetups. And I appreciate the cleanliness of both the space and the menus (nothing worse than a sticky menu!).
Overall, I had a great time and will definitely return—especially if MyKia is on the floor.

Is this racism or just bad service? My wife and I came in, were seated at a table and given menus. We chose what we wanted, washed our hands, and waited. Then a family of four came in, and after them a couple. First they brought drinks to the family, then to the couple, and we were still waiting for someone to come take our order, even just for drinks.
I went and told them that we were still waiting for a server. They said someone would come soon. Then the waitress brought food to the family who came after us, and we were still waiting just to order drinks.
We left, and the waitress never came to our table. Maybe she just didn’t want to serve a white couple.
