Worst food and customer service! My mother and I ordered/picked up 4 trays of dishes yesterday. The guy at the counter was rude and don’t get me started with the food. The veggies on pinakbet were so overcooked that they lost their color (it looked anemic), the chicken inasal were also overcooked, almost burned, and the sisig also didn’t look appetizing. Mind you we paid so much money for these food. So disappointing. They used to be an ok place as some of their dishes were good, but no longer the case. Maybe they changed their cook or something and the quality of their food had deteriorated. They should just closed that place down. Missing Nayong Filipino at this point.

Kabayan is the best place for classic silog breakfasts like longganisa, tapa, tocino, chicken adobo, pork bbq, chicken inasal, pork sisig.
pros:
-lots of seating
-menu has wide variety
-tasty food!
-clean bathroom
-lots of parking
-friendly owner
cons:
-ordered the adobo and it wasnt my favorite. LOVED the walastick, chicken insasal, and tocino

I had an sig sig burrito from here last year and it was amazing!
I just had another and it took 20 minutes and was only slightly warm. The flavors and textures did not excite me like the first time I had a burrito from them. Bummer.

This used to be where Kadok’s Filipino Food was located. New name, but apart from that, the interior from the front counter to the ATM machine and the dining tables have not changed at all. Service was very slow. When I came in, there were two customers waiting at a table and another person at another table. The service person was on the phone taking a catering order. When she was done on the phone, she continued for what seemed 5 more minutes talking to the person in the kitchen without acknowledging me.
I was there to sample their lumpia, shanghai and vegetable versions, to decide which to order for a party tray. I also ordered a siopao asado to round things out. It took her another 5 minutes to input the order on the register for a total. I explained to her I was there to taste things and decide what to order for a party tray. This went over her head as she never followed up on my attempts at questioning her on placing an order. After I paid, she left the counter to interview the other fellow inside who I thought was a customer.
Anyway, both types of lumpia were mediocre, so I didn’t order a party tray. The only highlight in this review is that I found the siopao was generously stuffed with a sweet and savory meat concoction.
Based on this experience, I won’t be recommending this eatery to anyone. You can find better filipino eateries nearby.

I can’t even describe how the food tastes. Went all over Union City trying to find one that’s open. Found this place and the guy working in the back told us that he can’t help us because the cashier left. We asked when the cashier will be back and he said “he doesn’t know”. Then we asked if we can still place an order and in a rude voice he says “sorry” and walks back to the back. Smh.

The portions of the meals here are a complete rip off. For the k6 meal I believe it’s a small drumstick and two scoops of rice with 3 very thin very small pieces of those lumpia things for like 17 dollars, smh total rip off. The picture of the food on their menu is not what you actually get when you buy it. It’s misleading the paying customers which is a lawsuit waiting to happen. L&Ls Hawaiian barbecue has way more meat on a mixed plate for just 16 dollars.

Absolutely delicious! I got the Chicken Inasal combo, and it came with a big piece of grilled chicken, lumpia and rice with an egg, plus a drink. The chicken was incredible, tangy-sweet and savory and finger-licking good. I made a huge mess eating it and I would do it again.
