Customer service was phenomenal. I would have eaten but breakfast was extremely overpriced and nothing stood out other than the lackluster 90s hospital Cafe vibe. I hate leaving these kind of reviews, but I doubt the owner takes time to listen to the customers or employees advice, or things would change. I stayed for coffee solely based on the server being so personable and accommodating but I would recommend any place besides this. The restaurant itself could have potential if they added ANY sort of specials or remodeled, but as it stands it is not even worth the stop (or really a review). Enjoy downtown Wallace instead if you’re in the area, it has plenty to offer with a great historic presence. Thanks again to the amazing server. She made the same on her tip with just a drip coffee as she would have if I had ordered a full meal. I hope she reads this and finds a better job with her personality and skillset, she would make bank at any other breakfast joint. As a former server/bartender in Idaho, I know that servers work for tips not the $3.35 minimum wage their employer offers. No decent decent server wants to babysit an empty restaurant. God bless. Rant over.

The restaurant has nice big windows that allow lots of sunlight inside. The service was slow. I wasn’t attended to until after 5 minutes of being seated. There was a woman server training a young lady and they both seemed to spend most of the time in the pass/kitchen. The food was bland and the hasbrowns were not fresh and they tasted like they were from a freezer box. When I went up to pay, I gave a 15% tip (which I thought was fair all things considered) and the woman turned around and I think she thought I wouldn’t be able to hear when she said “15% is not a good tip” to the young lady. She walked away and I was shocked at her audacity. I hope the young lady learns to be a better server than the woman who was training her. I’m a server on my way to work at Disney World so I know what good service looks like.

We LOVE going to the Trailside Cafe in Wallace for breakfast. Think about everything you ever loved about hotel coffee shops – and you’ve found your spot. Fantastic food, friendly servers and reasonable prices. They open early (6:30am), which since we get up at 4am is a huge bonus. Our regular waitress is fantastic (super long hair) and the food servings are huge, and really reasonably priced. I had the Silver Valley Motherload omelet (but scrambled), my husband had the Big Depot, and we split an order of biscuits and gravy. It wasn’t just breakfast Thursday – it was also breakfast for both of us for 2 more mornings (mixing the leftovers together and making burritos out of them). If your local, it’s so worth the visit. If you’re just passing through, it’s just one more thing to love about the Silver Valley, and Wallace in particular. (Mauria was our waitress again – and she is fantastic!!)

Really good breakfast! Omelets are awesome… Pancakes are awesome…. Always hot and fresh of the griddle. It’s consistently good . Always the same, always fast, nice size breakfasts. That’s huge anymore. It seems like most places are hit and miss anymore. This place…. You know you’ll get what you did last time, Everytime.

My husband and I went to Trailside Cafe for breakfast on a Friday morning at 7:30. I’ll be up front-there was only one woman working and she was RUNNING. When we walked in, she was ringing up a group of people (including a high School football player), and told us to find a table and seat ourselves. Honestly, there were multiple tables yet to be bused, but plenty of clean ones too. Many tables were full of customers. Once Maria finished ringing up costumers, she literally RAN to the kitchen, coming out with armfuls of food. As soon as she delivered orders she took our drink and food order (menus were on the tables), and she ran off. My husband ordered a pancake combo, and I ordered an Omlette (I think it was the Cataldo). As Maria refilled our coffees, she apologized for the wait (not long) and the dirty tables. Apparently she was the only one scheduled, and the entire high School football team came for breakfast, along with regular customers, and she hadn’t stopped running since they opened. Despite this, she was smiling and laughing and had a great attitude. My Omlette… Was probably one of the best I ever had. Tons of sauteed veggies (onions, Bell peppers, tomatoes and mushrooms) plus crispy bacon and cheese-it was wonderful!!!. My husband enjoyed his pancakes, eggs and bacon, and my Omlette came with hash browns and sour dough toast. The food was great, and Maria’s positive attitude more than made up for a short wait and some uncleared tables. We will definitely be returning (just not on a game day, where they were obviously understaffed). Overall great experience.

Who advertises the “Best Breakfast in town” and then closes at 10 am on a Sunday morning in a tourist town? Took our business elsewhere after the waitress made a point to say “we close in 10 minutes”. Won’t try again.

I have been here once before and had a great experience. However this time not so much. The food was fair at best. The poor young gal that was working was doing five jobs at once on her own with no help. She lost many tables as they walked out due to the mess and chaos. When brought to Management’s attention they seem to not care. They could have helped her for a short time and resolved the back up. I hope she finds a better job! Unfortunately I may not be back.
