I tried the doubles and the aloo pie both were absolutely delicious! Everything is made to order, so it’s fresh, not sitting around getting soggy. It came out piping hot and full of flavor. I even brought some home to my family and they were all impressed with how amazing everything tasted.
The customer service was excellent. The owner, Chris, was very welcoming, and the staff was pleasant and friendly. Although I didn’t get to meet his wife, Tamera, I spoke with her on the phone and she was so sweet and professional.
I’ll definitely be going back. Highly recommend paying them a visit!
The aloo pie was also inedible; I think the oil it was fried in gave it a strange taste.
I respect the effort and the friendliness of the people working there, but I was turned off by this experience.
My gosh best doubles Bara I ever had living in the USA. I think everyone need to try their doubles and pepper roti pie. This is our Sunday breakfast
I take a 1½ hrs drive to have it..
Even the kids love the doubles here and they don’t eat doubles anywhere
D Doubles Guy is a food trailer that brings genuinely delicious Trinidadian flavor with excellent service. I wish I could give it a higher rating, as the experience itself is top-notch, but the price difference between this trailer and established brick-and-mortar spots offering the same cuisine is too significant to ignore.
The food quality is great across the board. The star of the show, the doubles, are fantastic—I’d rate them a strong 4 out of 5. The channa is perfectly seasoned and of the correct consistently, the barra is fresh and fluffy. They have a few other items which I haven’t tried due to the price eg. Bake and saltfish, cheese pies, bake and shark.
Beyond the food, the service here is warm, fast, and great. It’s clear the team is running a professional operation, and I was also impressed by how clean and organized the kitchen setup looked inside the trailer.
However, the major sticking point is the cost. The prices are noticeably expensive compared to what you typically pay for these items at other local establishments. While I appreciate the quality and convenience, the premium charged makes it hard to justify frequent visits when comparable—and often cheaper—options are available nearby.
Overall, if price is no object, D Doubles Guy is an easy recommendation. But the high cost prevents the experience from reaching the 4- or 5-star territory, leading to a respectable, but slightly disappointing, 3-star rating.
