The food was okay. The biscuits and gravy were probably the least imaginative I have ever had. It was like flour and milk, and nothing else. But, it was cheap. The burritos was good as well. No spice to the chili, but nothing wrong with it. And it was cheap. I love places like this. ZERO frills, just cheap food.
The waitress was great. My coffee and water stayed full the entire time.
Glad I stopped in.

The Butcher Block is hands down one of my top “mom & pop” favorites in Denver! The food is always flavorful and comforting. Brunch here is a must! My favorites are the Roundhouse or their cinnamon rolls. They’re absolutely delicious (asked for it warmed)! On top of that, they have an unbeatable $5 burger special after 3!
The atmosphere is welcoming, the staff is friendly, and you can tell they really care about their guests. Whether you’re looking for a hearty brunch, a casual bite, or a local spot to enjoy with friends, The Butcher Block never disappoints. Highly recommend!

This place is an absolute gem!! I haven’t been here since I was a kid and the biscuits and gravy brought back those simplicity of memories!! Wonderful service! Extremely friendly staff from the cooks to the servers!!! This is a very joyful experience for my husband whom has never been here and lived in Denver Colorado longer than I have haha!! Thank you!!

Had the Homemade Cinnamon Roll and the Round House eggs, ham, cheese, bacon, and sausage all stacked on hashbrowns and toast. Simple, filling, and classic diner food done right.
The cinnamon roll was huge and perfectly sweet. Great spot for a hearty breakfast.

I don’t know how many times i have driven by this place on Washington Street without stopping, until i did so the other day. Nothing fancy or kitschy, just a plain and simple diner with an old-school, neighborly vibe. Good variety of menu items and prices are relatively cheaper than some of its counterparts in downtown Denver. Breakfast omelette was good and the cinnamon rolls are great, even though they are $4 a piece (as of this posting). Plenty of seats inside, and free parking in front of restaurant. Recommended.

I used to enjoy having my lunch at butcher block located on Washington St but lately, I have had issues with a lot of vehicles in parking lot that get in the way. I have tried different times throughout their business hours but it seems to be that this parking is shared with Amazon drivers. Sad to see this place go to waste for this matter. I believe all of those drivers should have their own lot to park in. I’ll be back once it’s better and don’t see has many drivers piled up.

When you first walk in the place is very unassuming. Yet much like many other good food places it’s not about being fancy up front.
I order the breakfast burritos and biscuits and gravy and the cinnamon roll.
The burritos was amazing. You can smother it in their green chilli or breakfast gravy you can’t go wrong with either.
Biscuits and gravy were good. I like my gravy with a little more meat and pepper, there was good still.
And let us not forget the fresh cinnamon roll that is the size of a plate. So so good!

If you appreciate a classic, down-home breakfast, this place won’t disappoint. The quality and flavor are on par with IHOP or Denny’s. I enjoyed it so much I practically licked the plate clean.

Coldest weekend of the year, was craving a chicken fried steak. It was a long weekend on MLK day, so I went to try Butcher Block since they were open.
It was pretty empty when I went in, I think I was in and out in less than 30 minutes – which was perfect since I was going for a quick bite solo.
Restaurant was cozy. Waitress was very welcoming and attentive. Chicken fried steak hit the spot, well seasoned, not too salty. Definitely will be back next time I am craving some diner food done right.
