Reviews
we booked a 9:15pm reservation for valentines and we were super excited to eat here. the reviews look good and we’re both broke college students so it’s always fun to splurge once in a while and go somewhere fancy.
got sat down at 9:20 server came around , and brought us the appetizer??? should it even be called that? it was two of the smallest pieces of baguette with pesto on them,
we then sit around a wait, till about 10pm when our soup is brought out and they’re both cold, not even lukewarm totally cold.
we then wait till 10:30 for our entree, filet mignon and potatoes, again super small portions and neither of our steaks were cooked how we asked, everything is lukewarm, feels like it’s been sitting under a light
they then bring out our desserts and again, smallest portions ever.
we left the restaurant at 11pm. i understand a 9:15 reservation is late but an almost 2 hour dinner is really crazy
the server barely came around, didn’t refill drinks once.
i am never this rude or “stuck-up” but we are paying 100 dollars per person i expect food and service that meets that standard.
i would absolutely never go here again, im super disappointed and frustrated that i just paid $225+ for a meal i could have made for less money and better in my own kitchen.
if this was outback steakhouse, or Texas roadhouse this would be a different story but this was absolutely not what we were expecting.
This is one of the nicest little spots to spend time at. Z’s Restaurant is truly one of the best restaurants I’ve ever been to. The service was excellent, the place was spotless and beautifully decorated, and the food was absolutely outstanding.
Everything we ordered was incredibly delicious. I’ve traveled to Germany before, and this place brought back memories of refined European flavors. I had the vegetable crêpe and was blown away by how flavorful and perfectly prepared it was.
Prices are very reasonable for the quality you get. Everything about the experience was wonderful. I highly recommend this place to everyone — you won’t be disappointed!
We had a 7:00 PM reservation and were not acknowledged by our waiter, Miles, until 7:30 PM. When he finally came to the table, he took our order but didn’t offer a drink menu. After that, he was practically invisible. We repeatedly tried to get his attention, but he was nowhere to be found.
The entire evening dragged on for two and a half hours, and we didn’t leave until after 9:00 PM. This was a set menu, and the restaurant appeared to be fully staffed, so there is no reasonable excuse for such poor pacing and lack of service. We even saw other guests get seated and eventually leave due to not receiving service. To make matters worse, tables seated after us in another server’s section received their meals, paid their checks, and left before we were even served our main course.
The food was mediocre at best and absolutely not worth the $230+ price tag. For that cost, we expected attentive service and a smooth, enjoyable evening — not frustration and neglect.
Extremely disappointing experience.
The service was great, they were attentive and polite and so amazing.
I recommend the Wellington for two it is worth the try.
Ribeye was crispy on outside and Juicy in middle and cooked to perfection. Also fyi it is a very good place to get wellington beef..
I definitely enjoyed the trip and the local and wouldn’t mind going back to stay for a little while at the resort…
Suggested the restaurant to some friends of mine and they will be dropping in soon..
Onto the dinner. My husband and I went to the valentines dinner. Our reservation was at 5:30pm. The server didn’t even acknowledge us until 6pm, after my husband flagged him down. One thing the server consistently did every time we saw him was apologize for how long everything was taking. Recognizing that it might be a little slow, we ordered our meals at the same time as our drinks. The bruschetta came out and was clearly cold and had been sitting out for awhile. The crust of the bread was super tough, but the inside was clearly super soggy. After that, we received our soups. I ordered the lobster bisque. They seem to have put some sort of sour cream or something on top that never fully melted into the soup, which made the soup a textural nightmare.
Like I stated, our reservation was for 5:30pm. By 6:20pm, we had only received those 2 tiny bruschetta pieces and the soups. We asked our server if we could receive our entrees and desserts to go. My husband started getting sick and having a fever (not related to the food) plus the long wait was not helping, we just wanted to get out so he could rest. The server said he’d ask and get us our food as fast as he could and explained the kitchen was “overwhelmed.” Again, about half of the restaurant was full at this point. By 6:40, my husband was feeling worse and we ultimately decided to go up to the host stand to see about paying and leaving because this was insane. Conveniently, the server had our food ready shortly after we alerted the host. So we paid our $225 bill and left. While we were paying, the server was also staring at me the entire time and trying to read how much of a tip I’d give, which made me uncomfortable. We ultimately left shortly after 7pm.
Ultimately though, this was a waste of our time and money considering what we received. I can understand places being understaffed and overwhelmed, and I don’t think the server was fully at fault here. But something went awry. For a place that appears to be nicer and has higher prices, you’d think the quality would be there. It just wasn’t.
