There are multiple levels and areas to sit. There is an upstairs, two downstairs, the main dinning area. There are two bars. The night we came only one was open but we got there early to go to a show next door at the Monday Club. They have a good wine and beer selection. Their bar is a full bar. They have a happy hour but it’s only from 4:30-5:30.
We got the dip dup appetizer ellote corn and guacamole with fresh chips. This is a great appetizers and highly recommend.
I got the French dip on a Dutch crunch roll. The meat was so tender. The onions, peppers etc were roasted. The cheese blended with the dip.
The sandwiches and burgers did not come with a side. We got the beer battered fries. Crispy and delicious.
My wife got the short rib grilled cheese. This comes with a great tomato soup.
The menu had many levels to choose. You can have a great affordable sandwich or burger. Or go up end and get filet mignon or salmon.

Wonderful Spot! We were on a road trip with our two small dogs and staying nearby. We were very fortunate that this place was withing walking distance of our hotel. They are also dog friendly – we had a lovely spot with a fire pit at our table. The staff was so kind and provided excellent service. The food was delish! we split the Korean BBQ salad and a side of smashed potatoes. Both were delicious. Our cocktails were awesome and tasty too. This place was a fantsstic find – I def recommend coming to 1865 Craft House & Kitchen!

I was at this restaurant about 12 to 15 years ago. It was surrounded by trees and felt a little dark and depressing . I went this time with a friend and it was completely different! The food was phenomenal. I had the Korean beef salad and only wished it wasn’t too tacky to lick the bowl afterward. We shared a couple of desserts and they were equally phenom. The triple chocolate mousse was simply perfect. The wait staff was so well trained and so cordial. There is no doubt I will return again and again. As Gordon Ramsay would say, “Wow, Wow, Wow!“

1865 Kraft House & Kitchen offers a dining experience that seamlessly blends comfort and sophistication. During our visit for lunch, we were delighted to find a dog-friendly, alfresco dining area, which made the experience all the more enjoyable for us and our furry companion.

We indulged in three standout dishes: Salt and Pepper Calamari, Korean Fried Chicken Wings, and the 1865 Classic Burger.

The Salt and Pepper Calamari was a revelation. Perfectly cooked, the calamari was tender with a delightful crispness. The seasoning struck a harmonious balance, enhancing the natural flavors without overpowering them. Each bite was a testament to the chef’s skill.

Next came the KFC Wings, which were nothing short of spectacular. Coated in a flavorful glaze, the wings delivered a satisfying crunch followed by a burst of sweet and spicy notes. They were a crowd-pleaser, leaving us craving more.

Finally, the 1865 Classic Burger stole the show. Juicy and cooked to perfection, the patty was complemented by the tangy pickled onions and a medley of fresh toppings. The bun was soft yet sturdy, holding everything together beautifully. It was a classic done right, and a must-try for burger enthusiasts.

The alfresco dining setup added a charming touch, allowing us to enjoy the fresh air and relaxed vibe of the restaurant. The staff were attentive and accommodating, ensuring both we and our dog felt welcome.

Overall, 1865 Kraft House & Kitchen is a gem in SLO, offering dishes that are both comforting and innovative. Whether you’re a local or just passing through, this spot deserves a place on your culinary itinerary.

Fabulous food and great service. My wife and I had dinner here on a Tuesday night. We had the Monterey spicy chicken sandwich, garlic broccolini, and strawberry goat cheese salad. The chicken sandwich was very juicy and delicious although not spicy at all.

Superb food. This is an old steakhouse known for its prime rib that keeps old their signature offering alive with the weekly promotion. If you eat there at night, the first thing you will notice is the ambiance. I recommend the outdoor seating when the weather is fair, as you will be treated to dinner by fire light. The food is upscale and on the pricier side. To start us out. Had to try the potato taquitos. Glad we did! For our main course we had the poke bowl and spare rib grilled cheese sandwich. Both were delightfully flavorful and filling. We did not leave hungry. Friendly and energetic staff. Highly recommend.

We really enjoyed our leisurely prime rib dinner with the music played by Jessica. Be sure to order the triple chocolate mousse.

Located on the edge of town, free parking, close to Hwy 101 and Cal Poly. Good friendly service, modern slightly stark, slightly run down decor. Two bars and multiple dining area options inside & outside. Tried the happy hour menu, margarita was strong at a nice price, chips with corn salsa & guacamole were tasty, hamburger was very soggy, falling apart, a mess to eat. I will likely return but will pass on the hamburger(s).

Ate there twice during our stay. Food was delicious. Staff is nice and helpful, but the second night waitress and bartender were pretty young and not that attentive. Seemed to be more interested in their phones. Bartender brought over a carafe of water, set it on the table and walked off. Yes we can pour our own water, but would have been courteous if he had poured the first glass. Small details make a difference on the tip.

Enjoyed the experience. Fyi. If you sit at the bar, you may not hear the live music. The pork belly rice was good because it had good acidity from the kimchi and plenty of veggies. it was a generous portion — although I think it needed a little bit more pork belly. The blood n bourbon drink was delicious. Will have to return for happy hour and other meals. Thanks to Bryan and company for making our first visit a delight.
