We asked Minasa to be our wedding caterers for a bigger party, but once we realized we wanted something more intimate – we decided to elope and book out the restaurant for our immediate ohana.

Minasa made our dreams come true (and everything and more) for a Kamayan Feast experience. I always dreamed of having an ancestrally rooted dinner that was delicious and fun. They completely transformed their restaurant into a beautiful cozy atmosphere, DIY’d our ancestral altar with photos, hierlooms, and items we left for them, and the food was out of this world. They customized everything from the menu to the atmosphere. It’s been a month since we had our pre-wedding dinner and our families are still talking about how delicious and beautiful everything was.

What was most important was the love that both Chef, his spouse Ann, and their team have for their craft and their customers. We didn’t even feel like customers – that evening we were all family. We love that they provide internship opportunities for students as well and that they got to be a part of our special evening, too.

Mahalo nui / Salamat po to the Minasa team. We are forever grateful to have this memory with our family. We love you!

This was truly a hidden gem. The food was absolutely delicious. The atmosphere was cozy and had great music. Everything was put together with intention. The decor and aesthetic of the place was thoughtfully crafted and the presentation of the food was very artistic.

Minasa is such a gem! We ordered the ube churros and the longganisa bao bun, Calamansi juice OMG….. Filipino flavors with a creative twist done so right. Everything was packed with flavor and totally exceeded our expectations.

The space is pretty small inside, so we ordered to go, which worked perfectly. Honestly, those two items alone were so good we couldn’t stop talking about them on the way home.

If you love Filipino food and want something familiar yet exciting and different, Minasa is a must-try. We’ll definitely be back to try more!

The food was good but not amazing, and def overpriced. Wasn’t as flavorful as I would have hoped. But the chicken bowl, brisket (seasonal), calamansi refresher, and ube churros. I did appreciate that I could find non pork dishes to eat.

Minasa is probably top 3 meals I’ve had on the island. I ordered the chefs special which had the Calamansi chicken, kalbi, and lechon. Every single one of the meats was cooked perfectly and had trouble picking which one I liked the best. I did like the kalbi the most but the other two were right up there with it. Can’t go wrong. Also ordered the Ube churros because why wouldn’t you…. Minasa is a must try if you want an artful meal that’s way more than satisfying.

Their food is da bomb! Love the pork sisig, lechon over fries and their ube churro is so yum, it’s not too sweet. The owners Mark and Ann are so accommodating. We really felt the Aloha that you would expect from the island and its people. They let us stay to finish eating even though they already closed and even made us try their special dessert – ube mochi. It has the consistency of mamon, so light and airy; it’s unique. You gotta try their food, so delish! No cap. Please visit them at Waipahu when you come to Oahu. They have a great ambiance and their wall is full of beautiful artwork! They let artists display their masterpiece to sell and the chef also takes HS student interns from nearby school to gain experience. This is the kind of business you would want to support.

Went here with my wife during our 4th trip to Oahu, and we were searching for some good Filipino food. To our surprise, this place did not disappoint it’s definitely the spot to be!
The food was authentic, flavorful, and tasted just like home. Portions were generous, prices were reasonable, and the service was friendly. Everything we ordered was fresh and delicious.
If you’re in Oahu and craving real Filipino food, I highly recommend checking this place out. We’ll definitely be coming back on our next visit!

I finally was able to catch them open. I had the Lechon Fries. The Lechon is very crispy & and juicy with perfect fries, diced purple & green onion with a sweet/savory sauce. Very friendly service and the atmosphere was a pleasant surprise. I’m not sure if the paintings and other items are for sale. I loved the little lamps on the tables. Highly recommend and will be back!
