Listen, maybe my expectations have really cratered since moving here, but I was genuinely excited to see a Chinese takeout restaurant opening in the neighborhood that doesn’t also have subs on the menu. I ordered the pork with garlic sauce (listed as 鱼香肉丝 on the menu in Chinese which literally translates to “fish fragrance thinly sliced pork”). It’s a dish I would usually order to judge the quality and flavor of a Chinese restaurant. It is a very popular and basic dish, I think of it as the equivalent of a Margherita pizza in a Neapolitan pizza joint. It’s a dish that cannot hide behind a spicy sauce such as the dry pots (干锅) or the broth (水煮)dishes. It demonstrates the basic knife skills of the chef and whether they can get the sauce flavor and consistency right.

It left much to be desired, to say the least. The meat was tough (not silkened) and in various shapes, the sauce flavor is off and too runny. Deeply disappointing.

I also ordered the spicy pork wontons – they were under seasoned and the sauce was lacking. I can confirm that these are indeed made fresh in house because I saw one person making it when I was picking up.

I understand this is, after all, just a takeout restaurant. And they recently opened so I will return and try something else and report back.

Ordered the double cooked sichuan pork, stir fried green beans, and pickled cabbage cabbage + fish soup. They were all delicious, decently portioned and came with a small box of rice each. The soup in particular was a standout, really enjoyed it. It’s a takeout only spot, the whole place was really clean. 10% off if you pay in cash. I would order their chinese chinese food, not their American chinese food or dumplings which seem to be less good.

Our order was only ready 30 min after the estimated pick up time (so 50 min after ordering). Unfortunately they don’t pick up on the phone number provided when you place an order, so there’s no way to check if your order’s ready soon except to go there in person. And the waiting area is unheated….so wait for the text message saying your food’s ready!

I understand it’s a small operation that just opened and they seem understaffed, plus I ordered on a busy Friday night. Hopefully they can fix these issues soon! They are really nice. Five stars still because the food was really good and it’s awesome to have an actual chinese place in the neighborhood.

The place is just a long and narrow people with two employees. You order on a screen and wait. There are zero chairs or ambiance but the food is DELICIOUS. I would say the dumplings are on par with what we get from Rockville. Really, really good food.

Extremely good Szechuan food for Chinese takeout prices. Even the normal American Chinese takeout items like the pork fried rice noodles has some extra flavor, and the more specialized items like the dry hot pot are excellent examples of Szechuan cooking. On busy days like holidays, give them some extra time but otherwise it’s a reasonable turnaround on take out orders. There’s no seating at the restaurant, but you can save money by ordering direct and paying cash.

We ordered dan dan noodles and spicy chili dumplings after a long day of travel. Not sure what they’re trying to pass as dan dan noodles but there was barely any sauce, no ground pork and no peanuts. They’re literally lo mein noodles with a tiny bit of oil so they don’t stick together and nothing else. The dumplings were overcooked and the wrapper was falling apart when i tried to pick up with chopped sticks. Tried calling the restaurant four times to get answers/partial refund and no answer.

Let me make this VERY clear: if I could give this place ZERO stars, I would. I walked in for the FIRST time as a new customer, with my CHILD, simply trying to order FRIES nothing complicated, nothing special….and the man behind the counter looked me dead in my face and said “no.”

No explanation.
No alternative.
No courtesy.
Just no.

And he said it right in front of my child. Do you know how embarrassing and unnecessary that is? What grown adult talks to a parent and a kid like that? The complete lack of customer service, empathy, and basic human decency is honestly insane.

I was shocked, my child was confused, and the whole situation was just disrespectful for no reason. If this is how they treat new customers…especially families….it makes PERFECT sense why this place stays empty.

I promise you, there are PLENTY of carry-outs in the area that will actually treat you like a person, take your order, and not act irritated that you walked in.

Don’t waste your money, your time, or your energy here. Go literally anywhere else. ️

The dumplings are ok, I’d recommend. Buying salt and pepper shrimp, that is heavily battered for near $20….a crime. I think that is what the community thinks that dish is supposed to be, it had salt, no pepper.

Around $20 each dish on Uber Eats. The rice is as small as a pack of soy sauce. The flavor is good.

Didn’t answer phone so had to order online. Would have liked to ask questions. Had pan fried meat dumplings- delicious & wood recommend. Double cooked pork- good
Dry Pot Beef – too much cumin for my taste. Found the food to be fresh and authentic. Would like to try more dishes, descriptions and pics would be helpful. Overall – great addition to neighborhood. This is a take out only restaurant.
