KAZUO NOGUCHI Sushi Genki Owner/Chef : Profile He was born in Kumamoto city, JAPAN. After he graduated Housei University in Tokyo, he started working at Japanese Kaiseki fine dining Genkai and Sushi restaurant in Tokyo, JAPAN. He moved to Canada in 2001 and started working at The Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel as a Demi Chef De Partie Sushi. Then he’s been working as a Sushi chef in CANADA and also he’s been working as a Canadian food cook at Qails’ Gate estate Winery. He moved to Penticton on May, 2012 and opened Sushi Genki on June, 2012.

My family and I had spent the weekend from Vancouver. As a Japanese person I must say WOW! Food and service was as authentic as you can get. Small little spot for one of the best ramen and tempura I have ever had. Just exceptional. I will travel back just to come eat here. Make sure you make a stop if you’re craving some good sushi, ramen and tempura! ❤️❤️

Sushi Genki is hands down the best sushi restaurant in Penticton, in the okanagan, and probably one of the best in BC. The service provided by Tomoe is always so friendly and warm, that Sushi Genki is the only restaurant I feel comfortable eating at alone. She always remembers that I like a bit of the chili spice with my miso, even with all the customers she serves in a day. I have been dining here for more than a decade, and I hope to continue for many, many more. The sushi is always absolutely heavenly, fresh, and made with such care and attention to detail. Anything you order will be delicious. The presentation of every dish is worthy of a michelin star, and will have you taking pictures. Absolutely amazing from start to finish. All the dishes we had were incredibly fresh, perfectly prepared, and full of flavor. Service was outstanding, and the atmosphere was great. One of the best sushi spots around. I highly recommend! I can’t wait to come back.

Had a dynamite roll and the red hot chicken teriyaki bowl. The sushi rice had the perfect amount of sushi vinegar and it was still warm.

This was the best ramen I’ve had. I’m not stretching my truth. The best!! Served with 3 pork dumplings. The ramen was the main. The pork dumplings were done perfectly and they were delicious. The black garlic ramen was unbelievably good. I would have liked a few more noodles but that’s my hunger speaking, not my taste buds. I’m here for 3 more weeks so I’ll definitely be back. Only 4 tables inside with an additional 3 stools at an eating bar. So if you don’t have to don’t go at noon. It’s really nice inside. It’s clean and it’s organized. The woman who looked after me is one of the owners and she’s a sweet person. It doesn’t look like much from the outside but do yourself a favour and go in to see for yourself. The menu is not short of options. There are many to choose from. I finished with the mango ice cream which they don’t make in house, but was absolutely delicious

My brother researched for the best ramen and Sushi Genki was found. We had to try it out and what a find. The place is small so I would definitely recommend take out. However, best ramen we have had outside of Japan so far. If you can get a table, it is a cute place to sit in and eat. The black garlic ramen was delicious. Wait for food was well worth it. Will be back

I always get the black garlic ramen and Gyoza combo which comes with 4 deep fried gyozas. It is always amazing. The ramen is SO flavourful.
First time trying their yaki gyozas and they were delicious as well.
Very small restaurant but insane quality of food. I’d recommend this place to anyone and everyone!
