Ate their for the time, local to the area one of the best places to get a steak cooked to the right temperature, they space out bringing out salads and entrees so you have enough to enjoy good food and company. The waiter was superb with conversation and meeting our needs and excelling our expectations. I might dare to say one of the best places NW IA to get a steak. Will be back again.

Food was not good! Steaks were underwhelming. No flavor and no seasoning. We had the combo appetizer and it was the best part of the meal but still not that good. Very limited menu. Salad cones with mixed greens and dressing. Nothing else on it. There is a relish try served with the salad that includes carrot sticks, celery sticks, some pickle spears and cubes of Velveeta cheese. You heard me, velveeta cheese. Who eats cubes of the nastiest processed cheese you can get. My husband order the hash browns with onions but they forgot the onions and had a very weird smell and taste to them. They were also undercooked and dry. My baked potato was decent but can you really mess up a backed potato. Any fast food joint has better French fries per my 18 year old. Service was mediocre at best. Never offered a refill on my Diet Coke and it was served in a small plastic cup so a refill would have been nice. Just not a good restaurant for the price. Save your money and go to one of the chain steakhouses. They all have better food than this place.

Unfortunately, I wasn’t very impressed with my experience. I reserved a spot in advance from my phone, yet there was still quite a wait. Once I did get a table, service was quite slow to respond to me. They were busy, and I understand that, but I was close to wanting to leave because no one was even coming to my table to bring me a water after quite some time. I don’t know this for sure, and I’m only speculating, but it felt like bigger tables received attention, but the single person with a much smaller ending check (means smaller tip) was neglected. Once I was tended to, I ordered. The sales that came was quite lame. A $24 steak, and the salad had no cheese, croutons, cucumbers, nothing. I received wilted lettuce that was partially frozen, and dressing. That’s it. Was expecting more from $24 steak and a place that was nice. The Mexican cheese balls were pretty good. The steak was a bit tough, and dry as well. There was juice on the plate, so I could mop ghat up a bit, but not sure where it came from, because the steak itself was was fairly dry. The cheesy hash browns were ok, but again, it was cheese slices, instead of grated cheese. This is a low budget diner way to make cheesy hash browns. A nice steakhouse should be grating cheese, instead of using Kraft singles. It’s very possible that I could have a better experience on another trip, but the lame salad and cheap cheese option would still be there, even if the staff paid attention to me and the steak was tender and juicy. I’d be willing to try it again, but I’m not excited to, nor is it on the top of my list. Too many good places around that get my attention, but it’s not out of the question.

Our family had a fabulous experience. The restaurant is using a website to take reservations and you just keep moving up the list. While this may be inconvenient for some, I now realize the experience is worth it. Just plan on spending some money and eating a few calories. It is worth every penny.

First time here. I had several questions. Was answered placed my order. She never read it back to confirm. Ordered a ribeye, was charged for a prime cut. $20.00 plus difference. Waitress disagreed only wanted to take $2.00 off. I will not recommend this place or frequent it. And just to prove a point I paid the total so you won’t think we where look for a free ride. This was a terrible waitress. $97. Plus

Interesting decor you will only find at Archie’s Waeside. Good service and food overall. The steaks may be dry aged but not prime by any means.

They use high quality beef, but they did not season my steak at all so it was not very flavorful. Just average, probably not worth the trip.

Best steakhouse I’ve been to in the Midwest! Maybe only comparable to Jockos of the California Central Coast. Got the peppered rib eye and it was cooked as requested, so good! Has the atmosphere of a local steakhouse, with the interesting addition of Christmas houses.
