Its one of the only places that has a good dj. The other places seem to cater to older 50+ crowd. They will let you bring pizza from downstairs if their kitchen is closed..

Among Mammoth Village restaurants this place is a real find. It’s got great atmosphere, the food is really fantastic and well priced. Not crowded on a Wednesday night but I’m certain that during ski season or on weekends is packed to the gills. They had $9 Mai Tais which were equivalent to Maui quality. The chicken wings were fresh, spicy, moist and flavorful. But special shout-out to the mahi-mahi tacos, they were a really amazing with fresh papaya slaw and only a dollar extra for the very good French fries. Nelson the bartender took our order he was amazing, pleasant, courteous and took very good care of us. Next time in Mammoth I’ll definitely be returning.

This tiki bar has an incredible ambiance—tropical, fun, and full of character. The décor, lighting, and overall vibe make it a great place to hang out with friends and enjoy a laid-back night out. That said, the food was hit-or-miss.

I ordered the yellow curry with chicken, and it was unfortunately underwhelming. The chicken tasted prepackaged, lacking freshness and texture. The curry itself had a nice level of spice, but the rice was overcooked and the pita on the side felt unnecessary—it didn’t really complement the dish and seemed like an odd addition.

Surprisingly, the chicken nachos were the star of the meal. Flavorful, well-balanced, and definitely something I’d order again—in fact, I wish I’d had a plate to myself.

A friend ordered the loco moco, and while they said the gravy was tasty, the rice again wasn’t cooked properly, which seemed to be a recurring issue.

The drinks, however, were excellent. I had the Banana Sling and Piña Colada, and both were well-crafted—not overly sweet, with the right balance of flavor and alcohol. Easily one of the highlights of the visit.

A few notes on service style: it’s self-seating, and you place your order at the cash register, which is fine, but not always clearly communicated. Also, if you want water, you need to specifically ask for a carafe, as it’s not automatically offered.

All in all, this tiki bar is worth a visit for the atmosphere and drinks, and the nachos are definitely a win. With a little more attention to the food quality and service flow, it could be a top-tier spot.

Fun atmosphere as a tiki bar in the mountains, good mai tai though made with fruit juices. Drinks we’re all very tasty. Tasty apps! Good service.

I felt a great sense of nostalgia when I walked in. The decor is very “homey “, everything seems hand painted and represented a very tropical lifestyle. The menu options were phenomenal, wide enough of a range to accommodate any palate. I absolutely inhaled my mahi tacos! Mango salsa is my favorite! I just with the live music was a little better…

After a long day mountain biking in Mammoth, hubbs and I went to Lakanuki’s for a beer and a Mai Tai. It’s shoulder season here and it was perfect! We sat in the patio where it was nice a breezy on a 85+ degrees day. The service was fantastic and we went back the next night. I had a Pina Colada, that was divine and hubbs had another beer! The atmosphere and decor is something you would find in Hawaii, not in a mountain town, so that made it so much fun.

First off, let’s talk about the service: absolute legends! It’s so good to walk into a place and be treated well by everyone… such an amazing vibe!

Food: Absolutely on point! I could eat that poke every single day of my life!

Drinks: I’ve tried cocktails all over the world… and this place? Next level! I’ve been to Hawaii twice, and nothing compares to the drinks they make here!

Thank you!!! I’ll be back every time I’m in Mammoth! You guys are insane! Truly appreciate it!!!

We really enjoyed this place! Great vibes, friendly and helpful staff, great drinks and food. We would come again the next time we visit the area.
Be warned that the royal mai tai is super strong!!! How it works here, is you order at the bar, the staff makes your drinks right away, and they give you a number to take to whatever table you want to sit at for them to bring your food to. You can keep a tab open for more drinks and stuff if you like. I ordered the chicken tenders which is advertised as 3 strips but I got 5 1/2 strips, so they were very generous. It’s also advertised as coming with bbq sauce, but I got ranch instead. That’s totally fine by me, I love both, but if you have a preference maybe request your preferred sauce when ordering. The garlic fries are delicious and very garlicky!
And the staff was super kind. One of the workers saw me taking pictures of a decorative deep sea diver helmet, and he invited me to come closer and turned it toward me so I could get a better picture, which was super sweet and thoughtful. Thank you!
My only very nit-picky complaint is that their drinks (many of which are tiki drinks, or tiki inspired) could benefit from using pebble ice rather than ice cubes. Many tiki drink recipes account for how the pebble ice melting affects the flavor/taste.
