Golden Chen is hands down the **best Chinese takeout in Eastgate and the surrounding areas. The food is always hot, fresh, and packed with flavor, and you can tell real care goes into every order. The restaurant is spotlessly clean and well-kept, which makes the experience even better.

My boyfriend and I got take out from here tonight and to say we were happy is an understatement. I am really picky about my meat and chinese restaurants. The meals we ordered went over our expectations. We got 2 combos and 2 appetizers for a reasonably price and EVERYTHING was tasty. will be back!!!

The quality of the food is satisfactory, however, the service leaves much to be desired. Upon entering with my daughter, the woman working there displayed rude behavior by rolling her eyes and ignoring us, while the cashier seemed uninterested in assisting us. Upon receiving our food, the woman once again rolled her eyes. If you have prejudices against African American individuals, it is inappropriate to run a business. I have no intention of coming back. My 9-year-old daughter even observed the unwelcoming atmosphere, saying, “Mommy, I don’t think they want us here.”

I seriously cannot stand this place. My mom keeps trying to give this place a chance, however no one there seems to know what they are doing. Constantly not paying attention to an order over the phone. Constantly missing food in orders. Always check your order before you leave. I am sure something will be missing. This place is a joke.

I am very critical of where I buy Chinese food. I have to say, Golden Chen was the best I have had in years. Even the reheated leftovers were mouth watering and making me wish I had more.
I don’t have any pictures, I enjoyed my food too thoroughly to bother. But I had an egg roll and Chicken with Broccoli.
The egg roll was freshly made, crunchy yet soft on the inside and filled with a delicious variety of vegetables.
The Chicken and Broccoli was juicy and succulent. There was enough chicken for you to have a piece with every bite. The broccoli was perfectly steamed and abundant. There were sliced carrots that soaked up the sauce. Now the sauce !!!! The perfect amount of, what seemed like, extra sauce that coated everything and was so packed with an amazing taste. Can I get this separately? Oh, so freaking good.
Now the last thing…. And this made the meal top notch, was the fried rice. A light brown in color full of peas, onions and small carrot pieces. It wasn’t dry like so many other restaurants and had a flavor that was out of this world.
Combining all of these amazing foods…. Fantastic

Great experience. Food was out quick, hot, and everything tasted great. Girlfriend ordered the wrong thing and they were happy to change it out, and they didn’t charge me for both. 🙂

Have yet to have a decent Chinese experience in Cincinnati. (Moved here 6 months ago) I’ve now given up hope.
I did a bunch of research reading reviews and trying to find a decent Chinese place. Golden Chen was highly recommended. Was very excited to try it today.
Called in and placed order for pickup. Got there, people were nice and place looked clean. I was optimistic. Got home and went to put my food on a plate and found a giant black hair. I was disgusted and threw it away.
Also, I asked for no mushrooms and there were a lot of large mushroom pieces. My boyfriend ate the fried rice and one of the spring rolls. Fried rice was alright and spring roll was not good.
When he called to complain about the hair in the mixed veggies, he was told “sorry for the mix up” THE MIX UP?!?!
We asked for a refund and were told only the mixed veggies can be refunded. They refunded cc and charged $12.
Will not be eating any more Chinese in Ohio. This was the last straw.

We ordered from Golden Chen and it was suppose to be delivered in 1 hour. It took 4.5 hours to get our food ordered through door dash. NEVER order on Christmas.

Normally the flavor is very nice but the order I received on 11/15/23 had close to no flavor, combination lo mein also VERY LOW on the meats, and missed the egg rolls. The kitchen did not even smell “like Chinese” when my sister came by! Again, normally it is on point, maybe there is a new chef or they “forgot” .
Good size portions but we had to flavor it up. It tastes like water down seasoning when it arrived. It was not an easy fix but we were hungry as we are heading out and wanted to eat!
Ordered via Uber Eats. It was hot and delivered with care.
I did get a credit from Uber for the egg roll.
