First time here.

Food:
There was a menu board near the entrance showing several holiday themed items, including pumpkin spiced pancakes and waffles. I like a good waffle, and they had a couple of variations on the menu. I asked if it was Belgian style, with the deep pockets to capture all that extra butter and syrup, and it was. It came out nice and hot. For me it was a bit too soft, as I tend to like my waffles cooked a little crispier, similar to how I like my potato pancakes. Still very tasty. My friend ordered the House Omelet, which was also very good.

Service:
Everyone was super friendly and helpful. As soon as I arrived, they acknowledged me and let me know I could sit anywhere. They were patient while we chatted and were not focused on the menu right away. Great service throughout the entire meal. They kept checking in to make sure I had hot water for my tea and refills of coffee. Thanks, Symara (sp?).

Atmosphere:
The place is small and cozy, with a counter, tables, and booths. It was about half full, with individuals and pairs spread throughout the room. You could tell this is a spot with regulars, as people were chatting between tables. The decor was festive with holiday decorations. There is a TV on the wall showing the morning news, but it did not appear to have the volume on. Near the entrance there are a couple of video poker machines. I am not a fan of those. I find them distracting to look at and annoying when someone is playing them.

Overall, a good experience, and I would stop again.

If you’re looking for a fresh breakfast that’s well-prepared and served by a friendly server, Hen House is a great place to stop. Based on the parking lot, we could tell they have plenty of business, which is always a good sign of food quality and freshness. I had two eggs over easy with ham, fruit and two pancakes. The ham was tasty and generous in size, and the two eggs were soft, perfect for dipping my husband’s extra piece of toast in the yolks. I’ve never seen such delightfully fluffy pancakes! With the eggs, peaches and ham, I didn’t even touch the pancakes yet, but I’m looking forward to eating them tomorrow morning. Nice strong coffee to start you on your day, too.

I love visiting local diners and was lucky enough to find this one along the way. It was great the food was pretty good and prices very fair IMO it did take longer than usual to get the food but it felt fresh and it was hot so worth it for me ,service was awesome our waitress was very attentive and our coffee ☕ never fell below half a cup. Seating is limited and it looks like it’s in high demand so it might take a minute to get seated be prepared and patient . All in all a great little diner with that homemade feel (try the country fried steak it’s awesome)

The Hen House Cafe is one of those places that never disappoints. I’ve been several times now, and the food is consistently delicious—fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care. On top of that, the service is always great: friendly, attentive, and welcoming without being overbearing. It’s the kind of spot that makes you want to keep coming back because you know you’ll have a good meal and a pleasant experience every time. Highly recommend!

Great to see the Hen House open again, better than before!. A nice face lift, the food was a good value and Lisa’s service was top notch. The best place in the area for breakfast and lunch. You will not be disappointed. As a follow up: the chicken fried steak was awesome! A great breakfast value for $11.50!

Phenomenal food and service during a busy lunchtime. I ordered the corned beef with fries and, corn chowder. The fries were crunchy, the corned beef was cooked exceptionally well (not cooked fast and sliced thin), and the corn chowder was creamy with flavor.

Got takeout – usually do – today (01/04/26 11:30ish). I don’t know who the cook was, but it was THE best skillet I’ve ever eaten!!! Absolute perfection! If this cook doesn’t make the next one I order, it’s gonna be disappointing…

The old timey booth was the best part sadly, great look. Waitress was nice too but the food was not good. The toast was great but omelet and hash browns were barely edible and the French toast was ok.
