The first thing that I should mention is how fascinating the signs on the walls in the store are. It gives a super local-owned, personal vibe which was just cool to see. It’s a really small shop, with a few seats for sitting in but mostly for takeout

I had the Italian Grinder, which comes with the same base ingredients as all their other sandwiches but includes pepperoni, salami, and smoked ham.

I think I have to mention the bread in this sandwich first. This was phenomenal. The softness of the inside was just crazy; I don’t know if I’ve had softer bread on the inside of a sandwich before. When bread melts in your mouth, that’s when you have to step back and reconsider what is possible.
The outside was good – but I would’ve liked it a little crispier – it kind of felt like it was going for that but didn’t get all the way there. Still, when you consider how many sandwiches are ruined by bread that is too chewy – this is perfect. It’s also toasted to a great level with some butter baked in.

The ingredients were also very good. There’s a thick layer of meat, followed by a thick layer of cheese. The cheese pull is just incredible, it was melted perfectly.
Each of the meats were also solid. They were in proportion with each other, and well-cooked. The ham especially had a great mini crust around the outside.

Lastly, I generally liked the toppings, although there could’ve been a bit more. This was especially true with the pepperoncini, as this sandwich was missing a lot of the spice since they were so few of them.
Loved the zesty grinder sauce though.

The price on this was relatively expensive – around $16 – but it was decent sized, coming in at 375 grams. I’d say it was very filling.

Overall, this is an excellent sandwich that way exceeds so many of these similar chain restaurant sandwich places (think Jimmy Johns, etc..) in the area. 8.75/10

I am never disappointed by any sandwich I get here. Definitely my favorite sandwich place in Seattle.

Not sure what to say specifically since I’ve tried all their sandwiches. All very flavorful and never too dry or moist.

Only complaint is that the opening hours/days seem inconsistent throughout the years I’ve been going.

Very local, casual feel to this sandwich joint. Most sandwiches are priced at $15 which is fair for how delicious and filling they are. We ordered the Italian Grinder and Royal Grinder (pictured). The seasoned bread was polarizing – quality of the bread was high, but the taste was somewhere between “well-spiced” and “cheap breadstick”. But didn’t impact the quality of the sub overall.

This is one of the best sandwiches I’ve EVER had! I had the Italian, no tomato’s no olives no onions, with cucumbers and pickles ‍ INSANE! I’m glad I took it to go, because I turned into a feral hungry goblin eating the whole sandwich in under 30 seconds. If you are around, this is THE sandwich place. It’s worth the wait.

Huge shoutout to the employees working there, especially the register lady, she was so kind and helpful and made the amazing recommendation to sub the ham with the smoked turkey and I’m literally in heaven. She deserves the world.

Toasted subs on garlic bread?? Yes please!

This little shop is hidden in the very corner of an open plaza, behind the big Lennon statue in Freemont, so it might be easy to miss at first. It does take a little time for them to prepare your sandwich, which they’re very up front with (I think it was about 5-8 minutes for me when the shop is empty). But it’s totally worth it. Staff is fantastic, friendly and helpful.

Pictured here is my favorite, the Itallian. The bread is so warm and fluffy. The crust is firm but not tough or hard to chew and brushed with garlic butter.

I always get my sandwich to go, though they do have outdoor seating in addition to their bar style counter inside. They always wrap it up nice and in foil so it’s usually still nice and hot when I get home. Water is complementary, with some local hard cider and other beverage options.

They have the ability to take orders over the phone if you don’t want to wait around, you can call ahead. I saw they have some sandwiches that can be adjusted to be vegetarian as well.

Tried the pastrami grinder and chipotle panini. Both were fantastic with high quality ingredients and big enough for 1.5 meals. The lady at the register was the sweetest. Excellent service and delicious food.

Grabbed the Italian grinder and ate out on the patio – such a perfect summer moment. The inside was warm, the bread perfectly toasted (not the kind that wrecks the roof of your mouth – you know what I mean), and the flavors all came together just right! They will warn you that it takes a hot minute to get your sandwich.

I thought this was a good place. The service is really great & we didn’t have to wait too long. The sandwich (Italian) had the perfect vinegar ratio with all the pickled toppings, peppers, and such. I LOVED that it came toasted and was a reasonable size.

I feel like a lot of sandwich shops that I’ve been to take 40+ mins, but we got lucky going on a Sunday around 1:30pm. Not too much seating but enough to squeeze 2-3 folks. There’s outdoor seating which is probably better for the warmer weather. But a good vibe all around.

Also I might add that – even though the sandwich is a little pricey, it was even in flavor and size and worth the ~$16-$19. I didn’t feel robbed at all.

Great food and even better people. A woman was short on money and was wondering what she could get for $5.50. The staff was happy to make a deal and get her some food. I offered to pay for a full meal for her, but the owner/chef decided to give her a meal on the house. Very wholesome and friendly restaurant. If you’re looking for a quick and affordable sub this a go to.

August 2025 Update – just wanted to come here to say that I love the employees here and I love these sandwiches!!!! So much so that I brought a Sammie with me to Mt. Rainier 🙂 YOU GUYS ROCK thank you always!!!!

September 2024 – So good that strangers stopped me to ask where I bought that good smelling sandwich!!

10000/10 – I got the Italian grinder and it exceed all expectations. I wasn’t in a rush but the employee let me know how long it would be until my sandwich was ready which was kind and very appreciated. Overall highly recommend!!
