I kinda miss the old Jay’s in Niles, better draft beer options, and usually able to find a table or bar seat. Food is good enough, service is sometimes slow but reasonable. I am not a fan of all the reserved tables, had to leave because no seating available but there were maybe 10 empty tables with reserved signs.

My wife and I were visiting our son who attends Holy Cross in South Bend. We were staying at the Wyndam by Wingate South Bend. Jays II is connected to the hotel. Chris (manager) and his team provide friendly and excellent service with a smile. Chris is there helping and engaging with customers. The restaurant is always busy. We dined there multiple times or stopped by for a drink while in South Bend for 3 days. We’ve already made reservations at the same hotel for April visit. We will certainly dine at Jay’s II.

Opening night was amazing!! The waitresses had such amazing personalities, the environment was such an awesome vibe, $1 Busch lights, food was a true southern experience. We will definitely be back!

Always our go to spot. The new jays is much better for sports viewing, but still has the great bar feel, food, and service. They take great care of our family and our two little girls love going for live music on Fridays. The wait staff always makes them feel special!

Food was pretty good, but took 5 to 10 minutes just to get menus, then another 30 minutes for our food to come out, which is excessive considering that we didn’t get appetizers or drinks, and the restaurant was only half full when we got there. We got seated when a football game was just starting and we didn’t leave until halftime for time reference. Waitress was nice, but didn’t refill our drinks once, and we had to ask multiple times for ketchup. As a result, especially with so many other options in South Bend, I don’t think we’ll be back.

Just to note, me and my friends are all around the age of 22 and used to go to the old jays lounge in Niles all the time. The blonde hostess, here at the new location, was very judgmental as soon as we walked in and gave us many dirty looks. Then called the, I assume, general manager over to check out IDs which is fine by any means, but was done in a very passive aggressive and especially unprofessional manner. There was a long moment where we were talked about right in front of ourselves as if we weren’t there about whether or not we were under age even after the manager checked and verified our IDs. Even after this rude encounter we were still willing to give this new Jay’s location a try, and were met with extremely dismissive service. It seemed to us as if it had to do with us being young and female. I find it very unprofessional to be dismissed and treated as we were. Hope this is worked on in the future as we would still like to support the owners!

From our booth, the TVs were distant and it wasn’t at all an immersive football environment like you feel at most sports bars. Our wings were somewhat undercooked and made my wife sick almost instantly. I ordered the most appealing beer on the menu, and it was just okay, as in I wouldn’t order it again. Our waitress wasn’t rude but wasn’t very friendly either. Overall, unless you’re staying next door, there’s not much reason to choose Jay’s Lounge II.

The new location is so nice but hasn’t lost the bar feeling. Still the best food around and an amazing staff too. Be sure to check out the daily specials and entertainment options!

Chef makes their own Bloody Mary mix which is a great touch to the menu. Service great. Best place to watch sporting events. Especially ND games. Can’t wait for their Mardi Gras week!

We had a great time here. The food was amazing. We had several appetizers that were all good, as well as a hot dog and a burger that were great. The service was outstanding – thanks Erin! Loved all the TVs to watch the games!
