We selected Alliance Bakery for our wedding cake after sampling a few options around Chicago. They did a phenomenal job with the design of our cake – I wanted vintage piping and it was beautiful. The cake itself was delicious, we got two cake flavor/frosting combinations for both the cutting cake and sheet cakes for serving and many of our guests commented on how good it was!

Alliance Bakery is the best! We got our wedding, rehearsal dinner, and bridal shower cakes from them, and we received so many compliments on the taste! They also looked so great. The planning process was smooth as well, and I think their prices were pretty affordable compared to other bakeries in Chicago. We’re looking forward to our next occasion to order dessert from them!

This bakery has been here for over 100 years. They are definitely doing something right. Great pastries, cookies and cakes. After 7pm the store is half off. Their cakes are decorated so cute! On the pricey end but worth it. Fresh and tasty. Also the store has a very relaxing let’s eat cookies and walk around town vibe.

The croissant was ordinary and lacked the buttery appeal.
Parking difficult even with a loading zone.Service average.Decor classic elegance.
I will be back only if I spot an open parking spot.

My mom loved her cake! I was extremely busy during the times I scheduled to drop off flowers and pick up the cake but the staff were courteous enough to call me, and extend the time to bring the flowers and hold the cake until the next day. The cake itself looked pretty and tasted good. Everyone at the gathering enjoyed it.

I would give 10000 stars for the execution of the cake and the Mona sculpture. Literally the same as the puppet. Incredible craftsmanship!!!
The taste: incredible. Moist, soft, good flavor, and the fondant wasn’t too crazy on the taste.
The cake didn’t arrive at Division location for pick up as requested and confirmed during placing the order, BUT the staff was extremely nice and kind about it.

Very nice little quaint bakery. Great selection of cupcakes, cookies, bars, and much more! Selection is constantly changing based on the season – you won’t see the same thing twice. A must-visit for a nice breakfast treat or mid-day snack. Highly recommend.

Good pastries with some staples and some specialized. Coffee is good and if you’re looking for a really nice custom cake this is the place to go.
However I’m knocking this to four stars as is gone downhill over the years. I’m not sure if they’ve lost business or there’s been a change in ownership, but they’ve lost two of their three storefronts and their variety isn’t what it used it be.
There’s no longer any seating, so if you’re looking for a place to work remotely or read while enjoying your coffee – this isn’t it. And even then if you’re thinking of making this your daily coffee/croissant there’s a lot of other options that are just as good, if not better.
Still, this is worth going to, especially if you’re looking to get a custom cake.
