I had the absolute pleasure of dining at Bartaco in downtown Jacksonville recently, and I have to say, this experience was elevated entirely by two remarkable team members: Makenzie and Cayla.
Makenzie was our waitress, and from the moment we sat down, her warmth and attentiveness made us feel like valued guests. She was incredibly knowledgeable about the menu, offering thoughtful recommendations that were spot-on for our tastes. Her timing was impeccable—checking in at just the right moments without being intrusive, and she genuinely seemed to care that we were having a great experience. Her positive energy and professionalism turned what could have been just another dinner into something truly memorable.
Cayla, the manager, also made a lasting impression. You can tell she leads by example and has cultivated a wonderful team culture. She stopped by our table to ensure everything was perfect, and her genuine hospitality and attention to detail were evident. It’s clear she takes pride in both her staff and the guest experience, and that kind of leadership makes all the difference.
The food was delicious, the atmosphere was vibrant, but it was truly Makenzie and Cayla who made this visit exceptional. I’ll absolutely be returning to Bartaco, and I hope to see these two again. Love this place! I’m come here 1-2 times a week. I got it bad lol. The duck birria, oyster and fish tacos are my favorite. The guacamole and salsas are very good as well. Today we had Jade as our server and she was great! 10 out of 10 will recommend!

My husband and I visited Bar Taco and had a great experience. We started on the rooftop, which is beautifully decorated and has a really interesting menu. We shared a ceviche and a couple of drinks while enjoying a nice view of the city.
Then we went down to the first floor to try different tacos. The prices are very reasonable, so it’s easy to order a variety, and every single one we tried was delicious.
The staff member who helped us was very kind and patient while explaining how the ordering system works. Overall, we really enjoyed everything and would definitely come back.

My favorite part of coming here is getting to see/ be helped by Caleb. Literally the most amazing and beautiful soul out there. He is so helpful and genuinely enjoys and cares so much about his work. He’s always very welcoming and patient, and recommends the best food (he put me on to the Brussels sprout tacos- amazing). He always does his best to accommodate our requests, which is especially helpful since I’m vegan. Very much appreciated. My friends and I came here again recently for my birthday. He was the absolute sweetest, celebrating with us, and had the most lovely, touching gift and note. I will forever cherish that. It’s always so delightful having him grace us with his presence and help 🙂

Had lunch here with some colleagues today and had great time. There were about 14 of us and they were very accommodating to our large group. Liz was our server and did a wonderful job. She was genuine and kind and gave great recommendations . A lot of us qot the Pomegranate lemonade made with fresh squeezed juices which was so refreshing with just the right amount of sweetness. We got an assortment of tacos which came out and all were tasty anc you could tell were made with high quality ingredients. We will definitely be coming back here for more business lunches and hope we get sweet little Liz as our server

I will be bringing my husband on my next visit as well as recommendations for a great lunch/ brunch spot to converse with a nice drink! My first time here and definitely won’t be my last. The food and the quality of food was AMAZING. Our server Chris was phenomenal. And I definitely enjoyed it. The guac trio was too good. Loved the tacos and the atmosphere of this place. 5 stars all around!

Upon completing a delightful dinner, dessert, and drink , my car suffered a breakdown and required a jump start to resume functioning. I reentered the restaurant to request help, and they did not disappoint me. The staff provided exemplary service by assisting us in restarting my vehicle. I would like to acknowledge the kindness of Chef Tate and other staff who went above and beyond to provide assistance.
