Enjoyed my dish here yesterday- huge portion, but the flavor wasn’t all there for me (tased a bit bland, jazzed up my leftovers when I got home). I think I would come back another time to try the curry!

Great experience overall at our first time eating Indonesian food. Service was absolutely excellent, gave a good explanation of the dishes and some suggestions. Appetizers and food were really delicious.

Most of the dishes we ordered were very good, especially the goat. The satay was kind of small and dry. I’m not sure what many of the other dishes were, the explanations were a bit long winded and vague. There were about 4 different dishes served family style, I liked that idea. The iced tea was really good!

We enjoyed Bandung in Madison! I’ve never really had Indonesian food before and enjoyed it a lot. If you need a reference, it’s like Thai cuisine mixed with what feels like more similarities to Indian cuisine. We had so many dishes — tempeh mango curry rice, pad Thai, Semur (rice with beef and green beans and other veggies), Bihung goreng,(egg noodles with green onion, carrots bean sprouts, and rice vermicelli), and of course, Thai bubble tea! We had friendly and helpful staff as well as easy parking out front. It’s about $20 a dish, so it’s a bit pricier than your run of the mill chinese restaurant, but don’t let that dissuade you from grabbing a bite here. It also has tons of amazing vegetarian and vegan options!

Great food. Reasonable prices. See pictures!! We did drive up and it worked well. Just be aware of their hours. They are open for lunch pickup but close until 5:00 pm. You can place your order ahead of 5:00, but the cooks start cooking again at 5:00. So don’t expect anything ready for pickup until around 5:30. Worth the wait.

Visiting madison and this restaurant already on my wishlist . Me, my partner and his friend order Satay Tempeh , Fried rice, and Bopo tempeh. I could say this is remind me of my homecountry ! I love satay tempeh which is suitable with my dietary restriction sometimes 1/2 vegetarian & 1/2 vegan! I would love to visit again sometimes when travel to Madison again

Somewhat hidden understated gem. Ate here countless times and its a repeat birthday destination for a friend who loves to have the Lamb dish (Gulai Kambing) on her birthday. Pad Thai, Bihun Goreng, and Krakatau Shrimp are some of my faves that I keep re-ordering. They have also many yummy vegetarian options. Above all the quality is consistent!! Same dish is the same dish… Haven’t sampled anything that was bad; so order up. The “Small” portions are great for sharing and ordering many plates to try. Decor ambiance is ethnic and in line with the Willy St. vibe. The Nutty bar, which is separated by a wall is an interesting experiment and has live music etc. Haven’t quite figured it out, one of these days will have to sit there instead of the main dining room. Staff is knowledgeable, and helpful. Ask for their take on the dishes. Highly recommend the place. Recently heard they accept Bitcoin!.. Have to go back to check that out.

Post pandemic visit – coincided with Indonesian ambassador visit – and in honor of that a special menu we got to taste and got a goodie bag too. Outdoor seating is available, and pretty much there wasn’t a dish we didn’t finish! Hence earning the final star ⭐️ making this a cornerstone of culinary must visit spot. Enjoy!!

I was hoping that coming here would at least ease my homesickness a bit, but I ended up disappointed because the taste was so different maybe it’s been adjusted to suit local preferences. For me, everything was just too sweet, like eating sugar. I tried other dishes too, but they all tasted the same. The 2 and half hour trip to get some “Indonesian food” felt like a waste, but I still wish them success with their business.

Such amazing flavors. I keep coming back for the mango curry (I add shrimp). Everything is exceptionally fresh and the spicing is perfect. Most mind blowing part…they offer Gluten Free!!!! A must eat in Madison
