We stopped here on our way through, it wasn’t too busy and the food was delicious. Some portions were a bit small for price but that’s just inflation.

I got the Mama Mia, which was amazing (the texture of a few pieces of the chicken wasn’t my favorite but the rest was great). My son nearly finished his Mac and cheese then said it wasn’t his favorite, so I ate the very last bite and it was absolutely delicious. I wanted to lick the rest of the sauce out. He just said everyone is different mom! My husband loved his scone pizza.

Scones were good, the honey butter was ok but I thought it seemed more like sugar/frosting than honey butter

Second East Restaurant is an absolute gem! The food was delicious, the desserts were amazing, and the customer service truly stood out. The owner, Chris, was incredibly kind, welcoming, and very attentive to his customers. You can tell he genuinely cares about creating a great experience—especially for truckers.

The location is super convenient, right across from the Love’s Truck Stop, and the prices are very reasonable. Chris was engaged with everyone who came in, which made the atmosphere warm and inviting. The salad bar looked fantastic, and the dessert/treat section was hard to resist!

It’s clear that Chris put a lot of thought, love, and care into his restaurant, and for truckers, the convenience is unbeatable. If you’re in the area, definitely check out Second East—you will not be disappointed! Let’s Go Broncos!!

Stopped at Second East on a road trip and what a pleasant surprise! Their all-you-can-eat French toast is the real deal—thick, fluffy slices with that perfect golden-brown crust and just the right amount of egg custard soaked in.
The presentation is casual but generous, served on classic checkered diner paper with fresh strawberries and a nice dollop of whipped cream on the side. The French toast itself has a beautiful caramelization and stays soft on the inside. And yes, they really do keep bringing more if you ask!
Perfect pit stop when you’re hungry and want a hearty breakfast without breaking the bank. Service was friendly and quick. If you’re passing through and see the exit, take it—your stomach will thank you.

You must go here if in Cedar City, UT. The owner, Chris, is the nicest guy. He personally walked us through the menu and made sure that we got exactly what we wanted. The food is excellent. The salad bar is neat & clean and is set up in an old Dodge Van! The plastic utensil dispenser is sanitary & something we’ve never seen. The restrooms are clean. There is a dessert side that looked awesome, but we were stuffed after eating just half of our lunch. We will have to go back for dessert.

My family and I LOVE coming here the service, atmosphere, and food is always so good. The vibes are always there! Thank you for making our visit great!

Also, the food recommendation for our daughter was great! You made hers and our night as well. We will continue coming back! I forgot to take a pic but it was too good to wait!

I walked in with high hopes for a hearty meal, opting for the Pastrami and Cheese Burger with a side of Waffle Fries. Unfortunately, the experience was a textbook definition of “forgettable,” with the service matching the uninspired atmosphere.
The Sides
The meal started on a downward slope with the waffle fries. When you order fried potatoes, there’s a basic expectation of crunch; these, however, arrived noticeably soggy and limp. While the seasoning was passable, the lackluster texture made them a chore to eat rather than a treat.
The Main Event
Then came the burger, which was a series of unfortunate culinary choices:
• The Bun: Curiously, the bun was refrigerator-cold. Instead of a toasted, pillowy brioche or a classic seared roll, it felt like bread pulled straight from a deli fridge—entirely unsuitable for a hot sandwich.
• The Patty: The meat itself was the biggest mystery. The texture suggested it wasn’t 100% ground beef, but rather a “beef product” weighted down with fillers.
• Temperature: Any heat the patty might have once possessed was surrendered to the “abundance of cold” from the toppings and the bun.
Final Verdict: Between the lukewarm temperatures and the questionable meat quality, this was a meal defined by what it lacked. If you’re looking for a burger that actually feels like it spent time on a grill, you might want to keep walking.

My family and I recently visited Second East Restaurant in Cedar City and had a great experience. The atmosphere inside was clean and comfortable, and the staff were friendly and attentive, which made us feel welcome right away. For our meal, I ordered the bacon burger with waffle fries, which was flavorful and cooked just right, while the fries were crisp and satisfying. My wife tried the BLT sconewich, a creative and delicious twist that uses scones as the bread, in addition to waffle fries, and she really enjoyed the unique combination.

Our two eight year old daughters were also happy with their meals. One had the mac and cheese with a breadstick, and the other chose the grilled cheese with chips. Both portions were generous and kid-approved. Although we didn’t order from the salad bar, we took a look and were impressed by how fresh and well-stocked it appeared. The menu also features a variety of other options, including pasta, soups, and gluten-free choices, making it a versatile spot for families or anyone with dietary preferences.

Overall, Second East stands out as a solid choice for classic American fare in a casual, family-friendly setting. The creative touches like the sconewich and the inviting salad bar set it apart from typical fast-casual spots. We left satisfied and would definitely consider coming back on our next visit to Cedar City.

My husband and I went for lunch for the salad bar and breadsticks. The salad bar glass was filthy, no breadsticks. We went to register to request some and it took 20 minutes to get any. The bathrooms dirty, no one checked or cleaned salad bar or filled any of the vegetables. The staff was laughing and not paying attention to the customers.and not around to ask for anything Napkins empty. We came here about a month ago and ordered pasta which was so bad watery and no taste but we liked the salad bar so we returned. If the staff would be more consistent with cleaning, wiping down and keeping salad bar full it would be so
much better.

I prefer to cook my own food.. as I prefer to know who’s handling it. I’m very finicky about where I eat. Came across this place call my wall parked across the street. I thought the food was absolutely delicious. Does zucchini noodles with the different pastas are absolutely delicious. The salad bar selection is really good. The breadsticks are a garlic buttery, perfectly cooked. They made some cheesy waffle fries and I was able to load them with other toppings. They were very accommodating and found them to be a rare gem. I think with a different location they would probably be booming. Overall very delicious and will be a return customer. Their flavors as far as takeout goes are definitely one of my favorites.

Delicious at a great price! The store is so cool with the van as the salad bar. It’s a bit out of the way but worth the drive! We got the BLT sandwich and it was so good! We also got the scones and they were amazing, you have to try them!
