I’ve visited this sushi restaurant more than once, and in my opinion, everything is great here. The sushi is not too large, so it’s easy to eat, and there is plenty of filling. Everything is very fresh and properly prepared. The service was wonderful, and everyone was very friendly 🙂 They also brought me a free dessert in honor of my birthday, which was incredibly nice. I will definitely come back to this place many more times.

We have been coming to Osaka every Friday for years, and it has truly become one of our favorite places. The food is always fresh, delicious, and consistent—every single visit. I’ve tried many different plates, and all of them have been amazing.

Warning hidden gem alert! In a strip mall with 1/2 price books and the Austin Aquarium (I know the jokes here ) But honestly this place has such amazing creative combinations for sushi rolls and the service was fantastic! Apparently the regular server, according to my friend who visits there more often, was there tonight and was fabulous. Attentive but not annoying, the sweet spot. You won’t be disappointed.

Best sushi in North Austin! Food quality is great, and everything tasted fresh and balanced. The only drawback was the service – we went for dinner on a Friday night around 7pm during the dinner rush. I was surprised that the whole restaurant only had one waitress. Our appetizers were forgotten and we were served our main course before appetizers. I could tell that being understaffed was stressful for the server, but I would have expected better service for the price of the food.
2 apps + 5 sushi rolls and tip totaled $110. For the quality of the food I was happy to pay a higher price, but I was not impressed with the service or timing of the food. I still recommend going and trying it out for yourself though! Food was phenomenal.

I always try to get their lunch special here, sushi B roll, salmon. Every. Single. Time. You do have to order it during the week to get the best pricing. Their salmon is the best I’ve had, and I’ve eaten plenty of sushi in Austin alone. Also something they do really really well is the sushi rice. I usually don’t eat the all the rice on the rolls because of the carbs and to get more fish in haha, but this rice is worth all the calories.

Osaka feels like a neighborhood sushi place, it’s quaint and does really well in preparing not only their in house plates, but also their takeout orders. My husband and I order from here around eight or nine times a month on a regular basis. It’s always fresh, the perfect temperature and absolutely scrumptious! The sushi chefs continue to pay attention to the detail in presentation and the quality of their food. We have been going here for about 3 years and recommend to our friends and family whenever they’re in town or visiting. The only thing that we’ve found a little odd and somewhat confusing is the amount of menus we are handed when sitting down there. Aside from that, five stars every time! Keep doing what you do, but maybe rethink the mass amount of menus in the future.

8/27/21 New review. Always good to see the cooks and waiter/waitresses. Since the pandemic it was rough not going out to eat. Osaka opened up now and we’re super happy. The mood is so calm. We enjoy listening to the jazz.
