Is the food fine? Sure. Is it amazing? Not really. Is it overpriced? ABSOLUTELY.
$8.99 for 1 Gyro, no sides.
How much longer are we, the consumers, going to put to with the excuse of “well it’s the economy, etc”?
Unfortunately, especially for those us of Mediterranean persuasion, this is only 1 of 2 places in the 50 mile radius where we can get Gyros or Kebab, etc. But honestly, to spend over $30 for two people, I can not justify coming here over going over to Hibiscus. At least there’s you get the atmosphere and setting. Here, you get the occasional inebriated transient ready to greet you as soon as you are done with your meal, or mugger ready to take whatever change is left after paying exorbitant prices at this location.
Staff is friendly. The interior was clean enough. But unless price adjustment starts occurring, no place that prices like this will get higher than 4 stars. And unfortunately the location makes this place have an expectation of affordability that completely deludes the owners.
Once in a long while is ok for any rational mind to visit this place for a meal.

I had lunch there for the first time today. It was really good! And the salsa they have there really made the meal taste even better.

Small portion. No meat hardly. Lettuce on a gyro??? Never in Chicago. It had no flavor. Cold. Ordered onion rings and got 4 small hard ones and for some reason, a few cold, hard fries. I’ve never been so disappointed in investing $16.80 in a meal in my life. I will never eat there again or recommend.

My husband and I were looking for something different, so glad we tried this restaurant. Pita was so soft and fresh, never had lamb and it was really good. Onion rings were also great. Reasonable prices and server was very polite and attentive. Will definitely be back if we’re ever in the area again. My husband had the Lamb Burger, I had Philly Cheese Gyro and we shared a salad and the Onion Rings. Wish we had room for desert but we were too full, maybe next time.

I love this food and the family that owns the place. I always leave full and smiling. Whether you get lamb, chicken, or papas everything is flavorful and fresh. You MUST try the onion rings.

Gyros & Kebabs offers great value for the quality of food and the generous portions they serve. The prices are reasonable, making it an excellent choice for both quick lunches and relaxed dinners. The portion sizes ensure you leave satisfied, and the flavors will have you coming back for more.

Very nice service, people are warm and welcoming. The food for vegans wasn’t extraordinary, but a good option nevertheless. On the pricey side considering the amount of food. Restroom is clean.

If I could give this place 6 stars, I would! This small family owned restaurant always makes me feel like I’m part of the family. I don’t understand how this place isn’t constantly packed. If you’re new to the area, or from around here but haven’t checked them out, you must!

The gyro was amazing! I tried the Persian tea and it was good. Great service and nostalgic decor. I wanted to try the baklava but I was too full.
