I don’t know why everyone seems to assume the owner/sushi chef “Justin” is Japanese. You can tell by the accent that he’s not. So I looked up the public business listing. His real name is Sun-Hyoung Park and he’s Korean. His wife and co-owner, who I believe is the lunch waitress, is Vietnamese.
It shows in the food too. It’s not quite authentic; the flavors are not quite Japanese. It definitely has Korean influence… for example, the “futomaki” here is closer to kimbap (they have different ingredients), and the sushi rice tastes unseasoned. Come on, guys, sushi vinegar ain’t that expensive…
On the other hand, I’ve had a couple of Korean items from the menu, and I can’t complain about those; they were pretty tasty.
But not a lot of love or pride goes into the Japanese food. Polite constructive feedback to the chef is brushed off with “Yeah, you’re right that it sucks, but ingredients have gotten too expensive to make this dish the right way anymore,” or “Yeah but we were too busy to make it the right way this time.”
Ambiance is cute, lunch waitress is brusque, “Justin” is friendly but seems jaded with his job.

Food is always great here. Service is fast and prices are fair. The restaurant is small and I recommend going early if you need to wait for a table. Menu options are really good.

I’ve been a regular at this restaurant for many years now. My favorites are the Elaine roll and the Super Duper roll.

I ordered Pad Thai because of the reviews. Do NOT order it, seriously. They used unagi-type of sauce- super sweet and sticky and dozed rice noodles with them and called it Pad Thai. I could not eat it. My husband ordered bulgogi over rice, it was very mediocre. We were so disappointed because reviews suggested otherwise.

This sushi restaurant is absolutely excellent! It’s a small place located close to my home, and we’ve been there many times. The food is always fresh and delicious, and the quality never disappoints. Even though it’s a small restaurant, the atmosphere is cozy and welcoming. Definitely a five-star spot that keeps us coming back again and again!

Tonight I had an outstanding chirashi sushi from Little Japan – one of the best I’ve had in a long time. A great variety of very fresh fish, prepared perfectly – including some of the tastiest spicy tuna I’ve had. And my wife really enjoyed her chicken Pad Thai.
We’ve been ordering from Little Japan since the start of the pandemic. They are consistently excellent. And thanks to Justin (the owner, I think), Vivian, and the rest of the staff for the excellent friendly service!
Highly recommended.

Small local place. Love it! Staff is friendly. Don’t really need to wait for a table, max 20 min on a busy Friday.

Amazing sushi, will definitely be exploring the menu some more!
Update:
Came in recently again for the lunch special and was blown away by the price, portions, speed, and friendliness of staff. I had the sashimi and Florida roll which has tuna, yellowtail, scallion, avocado, and fish egg outside. Everything was very fresh and delicious. Will be back again soon!
