The food, drinks, music and atmosphere were all great!! Mr. Eric was their entertainment and he was so talented. I loved every song he played. I may be biased because my daughter is a waitress there but i promise shes a gem!! I met the manager and she was very sweet and welcoming. Surprisingly there wasn’t that many people there and it felt like we had the whole place to ourselves with our personal concert. Its a very large place with indoor and outdoor seating. Check them out if you haven’t!!

My dad and I ordered takeout and the girl on the phone KK was SO nice and wonderful! I got the fried catfish, Mac and cheese and mashed potatoes, it was absolutely delicious. My dad got the hamburger steak and that gravy was so flavorful and didn’t taste artificial. I even had the rest of mine for leftovers the next day and it was still great. No notes, so great!

Nice, relaxed atmosphere. Great customer service. Food served quickly and hot. Really large portions-easily shareable. Dinners come with 2 sides and your choice of bread- roll, Mexican or regular cornbread, hush puppies. The sides selection is extensive- you can just order a plate of sides. Smoked cabbage, lima beans, green beans, black eyed peas, mashed potatoes, mac n cheese, coleslaw, salad, etc…The special tonight was blackened chicken and grits- very tasty. Grits were perfectly seasoned. The fried chicken tenders were juicy and not overly breaded. The chicken and dressing was delicious. The cream gravy was very thin. The catfish was fried nicely- not hard. The hush puppies were dark but not hard- nice texture and not greasy. The smoked cabbage was sweet and buttery- if that’s how you like it, you will be happy. The baked potato was nice and fluffy. The pot roast was served in a bowl like a stew with small potatoes. The meatloaf was thick but not dense and cooked perfectly- Overall, each entree was good. They also have bread pudding for dessert. A full bar. TVs showing a variety of shows from sports, automotive and entertainment. Definitely recommend.

We were travelling through Mississippi to Tennessee and decided to stop and grab some food. My kiddo and I both got the same entrees with different sides. There were two waitresses who were very busy and what looked like a manager just meandering around staring. It did take them a while to take our order. I would think if you see your wait staff running around you would step in and pick up some slack instead of awkwardly standing there staring everyone down. Our waitress was nice and helpful when she did get to us. Food was mediocre at best. Fried okra tasted like it had been sitting out for a while (very dry), side salad was good and so were the fries. Unfortunately the hush puppies were burnt, the macaroni was cold/room temperature, and while the breading on the catfish was seasoned you could tell the catfish itself had not been (no soaking). We do go through this area about once a year but will not be back.

Nice restaurant, was recently remolded. I prefer the old steeles restaurant though in my opinion. Service was good but previously was better. New owner changed the vibe. I ordered blackened tenders but they were only grilled not blackened and chicken was dry. Chicken fried steak was good sides were basic. I would return nothing to go crazy about but good decent food. Bring cash they charge you extra for using a credit card.

We love eating at The Gin, always great food and service!
(This catfish Po-Boy was top shelf, and I would put these hand cut & battered onion rings against any in Tupelo!)
