I went mid afternoon during a slow time for a late lunch. Food was great and clearly freshly cooked and the employees were very friendly. They were out of Coke and Sprite, but I wanted sweet tea anyways and that was great, just the right amount of sweet. Compared to the other fast food options I’ve tried in Sanford recently, this was the best hands down.

Let’s be clear: this place is a scam. I ordered through Uber Eats, and the total was $31, including a ridiculous $6 delivery fee. I canceled the order less than five minutes after placing it. I called the restaurant myself and told them to cancel it. They said it was canceled and admitted they hadn’t even started making the food. Then when I called back asking about my $25 refund, suddenly they “can’t do anything” and push the problem onto Uber Eats. When Uber Eats gets involved, the story magically changes and now the restaurant claims they already prepared the food and sent it out for delivery within five minutes, which is an obvious lie. They also had the nerve to say I never called or canceled anything, even though my digital receipt clearly proves I did. Expecting anyone to believe an order was fully prepared and sent out in under five minutes is insulting. Instead of owning up to their mistake, they chose to lie and steal my $31. Absolutely dishonest, shady, and unprofessional. Do not trust this place.

Bruno through the drive thru was charismatic! First time we actually enjoyed coming. Usually they never give us what we want. Never listen , but Bruno…he was great. Its what fast food service needs. Refreshing. We had a special order and he was awesome. We are currently waiting for our order while I give this review.

I came in to purchase a family meal, I was greeted, the service was fast. Employees were friendly and very helpful. My food was fresh and hot, I was told a cook by the name of Mr.Pearson was cooking tonight. I would like to shout him out because the food was exactly what I ordered fresh and cooked right. Hire more people like this who love what they do!! This is the popeyes I remember and ill return with this crew working for sure!!!! Thanks Mr.Pearson great job on the food!!

This is the SLOWEST Popeyes I have ever been to. I have not been here once where they don’t ask me to park in a spot and have me wait for my food. The parking lot gets full of people waiting for their food. Absolutely no sense of urgency with these folks! Mind you I always place my order well in advance on the app and they still had me wait almost 40 mins for food.

Last Friday, November 7, 2025, our family was driving into New Hill, NC from out of state from Wahsington,DC, Baltimore, Md, Mead, Pennsylvania, and Northern, VA. After several hours of driving, we simply wanted to get our sleeping arrangements together in our AirBnB as we had more family arriving the following day for my nephew’s wedding. Tired and road-weary, we elected for DoorDash. I downloaded the app and we decided on the Popeyes location on South Horner Blvd in Sanford, NC. We ordered the 16pc family meal with 8 biscuits and 3 family sized sides.
40 minutes later, our driver showed up to the door with not much more than a lunchbox sized package! I actually had to laugh as the meal was about $60. With tax, tip, and service fees, it came to around $93.
When he showed, he literally had 8 tenders, 4 biscuits, and a small fry! I never had any experience with DoorDash but I was terribly disappointed. My bro-in-law insisted
that we keep the meager food as the driver was already tipped and, if we lost the dispute, at least we would have something. With only enough food for a couple of people, we decided to go out anyway and see what could be done. 30 minutes later we pulled up to the Popeyes as they were closing. The store manager, Angelica, was so sympathetic to our plight. She understood that we had a long drive, that we had seniors with us in their 70s and 80s that couldn’t travel anymore for the evening but were hungry and needed to eat. She and the short staffed skeleton crew that she had on hand worked in unison to pull off an absolute MIRACLE! She put together all that she could while still in the process of cleaning for the night and prepping for the next day. By the time she walked our bags out, the store was closed as was the register and she would not accept a single dime. The entire time, she smiled, was professional, and incredibly pleasant. While DoorDash did eventually honor our reimbursement request and returned our money, Angelica and her team acted IMMEDIATELY and turned what was a nightmare of a night into an amazing blessing that restored our faith in Popeyes. Every store should be so lucky to have a manager like Angelica that leaps into action when called instead of shrinking, shirking her responsibility, or passing the buck. That is what true leadership looks like and she is truly a gem.

The food is fine, as long as you’re willing to wait regular restaurant level wait times in order to get it. I honestly don’t even know how it’s possible for them to be this unbelievably slow. I have been here a couple times now and I have not gotten my food in less than 5 minutes a single time and once it was nearly 10 minute. Its wild. Definitely don’t come here if you’re in a hurry.

My grandson’s favorite chicken. This restaurant is always good for comfort food. Got there early and selected the 3 piece special. It was quickly prepared and good. The service was great. They were ready for the lunch time customers.

The lady taking my order was beyond rude. I understand that fast food work can be stressful but to greet a customer with “What do you want?” Is so unprofessional.
This happened at 1:50pm November 3rd at your Sanford NC Horner blvd location. Not only myself but the car in front of me drove off after her speaking that way to them.

Highly recommend management and the franchise owner address this quick because she is driving away customers.
