They were nice when ordered and picked up.
A friend and I came in here for lunch, and it was busy. All the tables were taken and they kindly offered to set a table up for us. We ordered at the register and they had put chairs out, but no table. When we noticed they were moving a table out for us from the back we felt bad, so we asked to sit at a counter with chairs instead to accommodate the situation. One of the few kindnesses during our experience here.
I ordered a salad, which I have gotten before, and it’s usually prepared fresh on a plate, not in a to go container. I also ordered the kashk bademjan, which was solid and cold, not at all appetizing, and some bread, which thankfully was warm, and honestly tasted like the only thing that was freshly prepared. My friend ordered one of the rice platters and some Dolmas. The Dolmas, were pulled out of the refrigerator display and it wasn’t until my friend was more than halfway through eating them that she noticed mold, MOLD. When we called the woman who was serving us over, she was apathetic and in disbelief. We showed her the mold in the dolma container, and she shrugged and said she could just bring us another one. We declined the offer, feeling sick to our stomachs. The salad and kashk bademjan, were from the same refrigerator display as the Moldy Dolmas, so I did not feel comfortable continuing to eat them. We asked for a refund, for my friend’s meal that was moldy, which they granted. I attempted to get a refund for my meal, but they declined. Upon getting a refund we promptly left, not finishing any of the food they served us.
My friend had previously been here numerous times, and this was the first time she said she had this experience. She had met the owner before and described him as the opposite of this experience, kind and pleasant. The man who was brought out to us as the owner, we can only assume, may have been the new owner or manager, but in any case the whole situation was poorly handled.
I would not ever recommend this place moving forward.
Is the best….
Support local restaurants, not fast food chains. Do not let them go out of business due to the Biden & Newsom pandemic.
I will be back for more.
