The food here was outstanding, and the service second to none.
We had barely been seated when we got our tortilla chips – fresh, warm and tasty with fresh not too zingy salsa.
The chunky guacamole starter was delicious, with fresh tomato, onion and just a touch of heat along with fresh cilantro.
The entrees were delivered in a timely manner even though the restaurant was fairly busy – and boy the serving size is BIG!!
Hubby and I both were in agreement that it was the best Mexican meal we had eaten in a long time. So good that we ate more than we intended and still had plenty to take home.
Highly recommend this restaurant.

More veggies than I have ever had in a quesadilla. A friend recommended the restaurant and we drove there while camping in Karnak, IL. It isnt far from the tunnel hill bicycle trail in Vienna.

I had combo platter #3. Food was good. Very mild flavor. I needed to add the salsa to get that flavorful bite. Items were fresh. Nice for a little place off the beaten path. Slasa was good with a little heat. Corn chips were crispy. Update. I’ve visited here several more times. Staff is great food has always been good. I ordered the number 3 one year removed. It was as good as ever. This is the most solid Mexican restaurant I go to. Always deliverable.

After a long morning and afternoon exploring the Shawnee National Forest, this restaurant was greatly appreciated. The food was great, and the menu items were interesting, with more than diverse in ingredients than what I’d consider to be run-of-the-mill Mexican restaurants. I’d consider the plates to be a good value, as we both had plenty of leftovers for later.

We found a GREAT stop for Mexican food on the road to Nashville from Missouri. The portions were large. The fajitas were fresh, tasty and well presented on hot fajita platters. The chips and chorizo queso were high quality and yummy . Plus our waitress Michelle was friendly and detailed in making sure we got what we wanted. Good/great pricing. Location is close, less than a half mile from I-24. Clean and updated bathrooms too! This will be our future meal stop on trips from St Louis to Nashville and beyoind☀️

The food was fantastic. The service was great. The restaurant was a little on the loud side.As there were two large groups of people with children. The children were extremely loud and tipping over chairs, which made our dining experience less than enjoyable. I recommend sitting towards the front of the restaurant where there are smaller tables for a more intimate experience.

This is one of my favorite places in Southern Illinois. The food is always fresh and delicious. The portions are enormous. I can’t get enough of the cuisine. Fast and friendly service. Worth the drive if you are coming off interstate 24.

Omg the flavors! Finally got my hands on some really good molé, in the form of the chicken enchiladas doused in this lovely sauce. The enchiladas were served with a sight drizzle of what looked to be white queso and diced onion, all of which were accompanied by a generous serving of authentic-tasting rice. Alongside the amazing-tasting chips and salsa, this meal was kicked up a notch with a Jumbo Margarita on the rocks, perfected with lime, orange, and salt on the rim. Didn’t have enough room left in my body to try dessert, but those looked good as well. A must-try! And very wallet-friendly prices!
