I heard there was a new executive chef and I wanted to take the wife there to see how progress was being made. After our visit I have mixed reviews.

When we walked in we were graded by a very nice lady with a wonderful personality. She told us we could sit anywhere. Every table was set up to seat eight people. There weren’t any tables for two or four. That was very odd. There was no silverware on any of the tables. Again, that was odd.

We did find out that there was live music and potential dancing that evening. That made my wife very happy. The saxophone player was pretty good but man was that music was loud. We couldn’t hear each other talk. That’s something they need to work on. I wasn’t sure if I was in a restaurant or a club.

We ordered some appetizers that were very good. The entrees were great and full of flavor. I wasn’t very happy that the shrimp was not from the Louisiana.

The drinks that we had were very good but a little pricey. But my wife liked her lemon drop and that’s all that matters.

As I mentioned before, every table sat eight so we did end up meeting some new friends. My wife did get some dancing in so as far as she’s concerned, the night was a success.

The ladies who were providing service really need to concentrate on how to serve drinks and food to the customer. Plus they need to realize that a smile goes a long way. Didn’t see too many. Management needs to do a better job in training.

I give our experience four stars but they have more room to grow on service and general hospitality. Never once did a manager come to our table to say hello.

I want to mention that they had a limited menu when we went because the hotel itself was sold out. They had a cheerleading competition and Mardi Gras parades locally. What I’m assuming is that they wanted to limit the menu to keep timeliness for both the staff and those attending the events.
It appeared to work out across the board.
The food came out quick and delicious. The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive (funny, too).
We ordered the wings, a turkey club, and the loaded fries.
The wings were some of the best we’ve had. They weren’t gummy, weren’t hard. Perfect texture with a little crunch and fell off the bone. Not too saucy.
The fries were a 10/10. They weren’t stingy with the toppings, but they also didn’t do too much. The side of sour cream was something I didn’t know I needed until I tried it.
The turkey club was my favorite thing. It had thick sliced turkey that wasn’t slime-y or too moist. It was so good. Sometimes, I find clubs to be soggy, and that didn’t happen with this one. Bacon was perfect, and bread was perfectly toasted.
Overall, it was a great meal. Will be returning when we’re back in the area.

I wanted to give it a 2 but the Cajun pasta and the bar service made up for it. Food here – oh my goodness. Not only extremely over priced but unfortunately, not good. At all. I had never had a Caesar salad let me down, until here… I’m also going to say, if the bar is full, do not bother sitting at a table. Worst service possibly ever. If you want to come and have a good experience – sit at the bar and order the Cajun pasta. The bartenders are phenomenal.

This is really bad food. My colleague and I ate here because we’re staying at the hotel. We should have gone somewhere else. He ordered Jamaican Jerk Chicken. It was basically chicken with what seemed to be a Salisbury steak sauce. There was nothing “jerk” about it. I got Chicken Parm. It was passable at best. Make the 10-minute walk to some of the restaurants several blocks away!

Y’all I tried. Two nights in a row… got “fish and chips” came soggy, unsalted, with scrambled eggs on top. Second time ordered the charcuterie board. Came with 1 set of Walmart crackers, Aldi cheese, no nuts, no fruit , no jams, nuts as described. “New menu” is just wild and kinda terrible. First night there was no drink menu just what the bartender knew. Second night paper drink menu, but stuff scratched out. It’s so sad because there’s really not accessible options you can walk to.. so you’re kinda stuck with this if you stay here. I should have uber eats. I guess if you don’t want to actually eat and just drink this is an option. Servers are friendly and apologetic. They don’t deserve to serve this sad food.

Cheese fries that need improvement. Fries with a hand full of shredded cheese, crispy bacon and chives on top. Remainder of fries underneath were plain ole fries. Dry flavorless and basic.
The sweet tea is made with the city water so it tastes dirty but I have ran into that all weekend at all other establishments. It was sweetened well.
Staff was friendly and the restaurant is clean with a full bar.

Ok. Yes, I realize this is a hotel restaurant. So, I was very pleasantly surprised at how good my dinner was last night.

Plenty of Cajun options… The cornmeal shrimp to start were delicious and perfectly cooked. I then went with the ribeye. I know, not really Cajun. However, I added red beans and rice as a side and that made it! I couldn’t help myself and then had the bourbon pecan pie with a scoop of vanilla… So good. Oh and the margaritas were made very well with a surprisingly large tequila selection.

Why not give five stars. Salt. I’m just not an add salt to everything person so the asparagus was way over salted and the ribeye was right on the edge. But, next time, knowing this, I’d just ask them to not salt anything.

Overall, very excellent.

If they are remotely busy the service is awful. Been sitting at the bar for over 10min and have not even been acknowledged. Came in for breakfast thinking it would be quick and convenient since I’m staying at the hotel. Ha. What a mistake that was.

What a shock! The ratings do NOT give the food justice. The service was slow, but man the food was great. I had the seafood platter. The shrimp were nice size, the batter was excellent. The catfish was awesome. Highly recommend. Not typical hotel food.

I will stick with the burger. I really wanted dessert so I went for the bourbon pecan pie. It tasted just ok. The portion was pitiful to say the least. I could have gotten the whole pie from Mrs. Smith’s for the cost of this one slice. And it would have tasted way better. But that’s just my opinion. I have also tried the red beans and rice and a few other things from the menu and let’s just say…nope! The food here is just awful and a complete overhaul is needed. Now I wonder if this is why I always see people drinking and not eating.
