It Was 4th of July weekend & I was very surprised at the atmosphere first off and secondly, while I was making friends with people that were waiting for their food. Everyone I sat with was pleasantly surprised with how good the food was, and overwhelmingly affordable, considering the cost of food these days. For a small tourist town I was Impressed. I gave this place five stars because I was super impressed with the efforts of the staff for providing such quality food and doing such a great job handling such a large crowd. I Would also recommend embracing the vibe the place has the offer
Go enjoy the gift shop where the prices are also excellent and socialize a bit under the covered seating. Make some friends and enjoy the vibe. I sure did.

I had the Ruca sandwich. It was tasty, but pretty small. For the price, I expected a bit more, but was overall satisfied. I’m okay spending more money for good food so it didn’t bother me too much, but it may dissuade someone from coming. See the posted picture for what I got for about $20.
Reading some of the reviews, it seems like I lucked out with timing. I got my food in about 10 minutes.
Overall, a great place to eat if you’re willing to shell out a few extra bucks!

We were in town camping by Bear Lake and have visited Ruca’s twice in a week because the food is that good. The big bear breakfast and mom’s special are amazing. They give you some Rasberry Jam for your toast or Aebleskivers (pancake ball) that is great but you can order an 8oz container or it that you will want. There can be a wait but its worth it. Pet friendly because all seats are outside with a lot of shade.

I got the Razzle Dazzle Æbleskivers and they were fantastic. It took a little long to get my food but I didn’t mind the wait the seating area is really cute and atmosphere was really fun.

Stopped in for the Aebleskivers and they did not disappoint. I had the red, white and blue, and they were such a delicious treat. They were lite and fluffy, with almost a custard like texture in the middle. They were topped with a sweet glaze and a generous amount of fresh strawberries and blueberries. The traditional were not as impressive, they came buttered, with a light dusting of powdered sugar and a package of Mrs. Butterworth’s syrup.
The chef salad was fresh with a citrus Dijon dressing. The turkey Pesto sandwich on sourdough was ok, but nothing worth writing home about.
It was counter service with outdoor shaded seating, and the girl behind the counter was super friendly and welcoming.

Quaint little breakfast/lunch/dinner spot! The raspberry smoothie is my absolute favorite, if you’re stopping here it’s a must!! Their food is good and there is plenty of seating. Cute souvenirs available and there is a boutique too but wasn’t open when I was there. Clean bathrooms. Really enjoyed this place.

It’s hard to find a place that sells aebleskivers. Rucas does it right. Taste is great. The razzle dazzle has a perfect blend or the tart raspberries with sweet filling. Grabbed a big bear breakfast, and it was done right. Eggs light a fluffy and bacon the right amount of crispness. Views of bear lake ate amazing with he outside seating, or you can be on he other side to view the mountains. Friendly staff and some extras like gift shop right there as well.

EDIT: the wait was really long. Told us 35min, ended up being 1hr10min. The Aeblskeivers seem to be the main attraction, all other breakfast is nothing special. If you see a long line, I might recommend somewhere else.
The Aeblskeivers (or however you spell them) are good, the sandwich was fine.
We got the strawberry Aeblskeivers and those were good. It’s ideal to eat these while they are hot. Might consider asking if they can heat yours up if they come out cold.
EDIT: we came again a year later. Can’t fault a place for a long wait because it’s not their fault they are popular, but a 30minute wait turned into 1hr 15 minutes and totally put a rut in our morning. If you see a long line, expect +1hr plus and don’t believe if they tell you less. Probably head somewhere else.
We also got the Ruca sandwich. Good, pretty nothing amazing. If you are a hungry guy, idk if this would fill you up.
I would come back and try new Aeblskeivers, and maybe a different sandwich. It’s a popular spot, expect a wait. Cool outdoor sitting area. Dogs allowed.

Came for the Aebleskivers and they did not disappoint! I got the Peaches ‘n Cream and it was soooo delicious. Generous portion of fluffy goodness and drizzled with a good amount of peaches and cream. We also ordered the Red, White, and Blue; and the Nutella one; both were devoured quickly. We also ordered a couple sandwiches to split. I got the Grilled Turkey Pesto, sooo yummy! Also the cute blonde that took our order was sooo sweet and helpful, I wish I would have caught her name to give her a true shout out. The outdoor seating was great and perfectly shaded. And the cute little shop was great to look around while we waited for our food. We are only visiting, but if we are ever in the area again, we will definitely be back!

Ruca’s is such a cute place with a great vibe! It caught our eye as we made our way through town to the resort. Their famous for their abelskivers so we had to try them along with mom’s special breakfast of two eggs, bacon and sausage. Delicious! There were plenty of tables and chairs with umbrellas and some bean bag toss while you wait. We even spotted a mule deer while there. The staff was fun and friendly, food was incredible and the atmosphere was chill.
