TO LIVE AND FRY IN L.A. In 2017, four childhood friends came up with a simple concept — take Nashville Hot Chicken and make it better than anyone else in America. With only a couple thousand dollars to their name, they boot-strapped a pop-up concept in a parking lot in East Hollywood serving a simple menu of tenders, sliders, fries, and kale slaw — they created a viral cult following with lines consistently over an hour long.

Well, I dont know what to say. This place was SUPER slow, in fact we were the 5th car in line at the drive through. 30 minutes and $30 later we had our food. We had Two meals for a total of 3 tenders and one slider, fries, and no drink. You would think after waiting so long the food would be fresh. Not even close, fries were cold and soggy and the chicken was cold. The chicken itself was decent but cold and dry so load up on the sauce they give you. Honestly we won’t be back to try it again, too much good food around. Maybe it was a one off experience but food and service were both pretty poor. I rarely give a low rating, this one deserves it.

We have been here around 10 times over the last 3 months and every time the food has been great (sandwich is a must try). We have dined in each time and have always been greeted by the kindest cashiers. I highly recommend checking this place out!

Today was my first time here and it was amazing! The service was very kind, easy, and fast all at once. We got a lot of help whenever needed. We even got checked up on while dining in, I would recommend this place a great ton and do plan on coming back. 🙂

This place has the worst chicken ever do not go!! $27 for 2 combo meals with no drinks! Fries were cold bread was full of pickle juice and the Chicken I don’t even know if you can call it that! I wouldn’t even try it looks like something is wrong with it, and this is how both combos were! I called the store no one answers and tells you to go to support on website so I did to request my $ back (this was at end of November) and they respond saying they will refund my $ guess what still waiting and I have sent numerous emails to them asking for a status. Don’t waste your $ here it is awful!

Updated Review January 2026:
My son wanted to try this place again so I did. This time we used the drive thru vs going inside and I got the Dave’s Bites instead of the slider. I was so much happier this time. The food was much better, we went with a medium in hopes of a little more spice and it did. The worker at the window was great and he made sure we had all the sauces, honey and ketchup we truly needed because we were having a little picnic. I’m now sure I will be back!!

I was really excited to try this place. The outside of the building looks really cool and trendy and when you walk in it’s kind of the same feel but the service is lacking and the cleanliness is really lacking, especially in the bathrooms. The food was just ok, I expected a lot more flavor based on the look of it but I plan to try again and maybe go through the drive thru and order something hotter. See if my experience is different. Oh and the sliders were definitely not sliders, I think that threw me off a bit too. I expected smaller chicken patties or something vs a whole breast on a little bun. Maybe I’ll try the nuggets next time.

Ordered online for a delayed pick up, selecting the family size tenders and sliders boxes. Plus a few Mac and cheese sides and 2 large orders of fries. It was plenty of food for 7 of us- could have ordered half as much! All good though and we’ll received by the group. Order was ready right on time for pick up. Oddly, we only got 3 sets of cutlery for all that, but maybe was connected to the 3 small Mac and cheese sides (no family size option). I’ll order Dave’s again!

Chicken was okay, nothing too special. Fries were decent, but Dave’s sauce was the highlight. Staff was polite and friendly, though they missed a piece of chicken in my son’s slider order. A bit pricey, but that’s pretty common these days. Overall, not bad, but not amazing either.
