[Exceptional Quality that rivals the best of Seoul! A Must-Visit in San Diego]
I am writing this review with a sincere heart to support a gem of a restaurant in Rancho Santa Fe, San Diego. Having lived and worked in the heart of Gangnam, Seoul (the center of Korean culinary excellence) for over 25 years, I can confidently say that the food at MuMu Sushi & K-Food is world-class.
I visited twice this past weekend (Feb 8-9). On the first night, I had the Hwedupbap (Sashimi Rice Bowl). The portion was impressively large, filled with incredibly fresh vegetables and premium sashimi. The balance of seasoning in the rice and ingredients was so perfect that I finished the entire bowl without even adding any spicy sauce (Gochujang). Don’t miss the Miso soup served beforehand—it’s served at the perfect temperature and is incredibly refreshing.
On the second night, I tried the Dolsot Bibimbap. Every ingredient—from the high-quality seasoned vegetables (Namul) to the perfectly marinated meat—felt home-cooked and authentic. The stone pot was heated to perfection, creating a delightful crispy rice (Nurungji) texture at the bottom. Pairing it with a cold Sapporo beer was a “dream team” combination.
Beyond the food, the hospitality was heartwarming. The owner (a beautiful lady with blonde hair) welcomed us with the brightest smile and genuine kindness. It is clear that she prioritizes high-quality ingredients and skilled craftsmanship over cost.
Though I am from a distant country, the warm hospitality and the taste of “home” I found here will stay with me for a long time. Highly recommended!

Their Poke portion size was great, and the ingredients were fresh. My kid always goes for the Chashu Ramen and the Soondobu Tofu Soup. We tried different dishes, and both my child and I like the meal.

Excellent! Our new favorite spot for sushi. We’ve already come twice in a week. Family ran and the owner is such a kind woman.
Food is fresh and delicious and beautiful, the chefs do a great job. Prices are fair for the quality and amount of food you get.

We stopped by here for a delicious dinner during the week. Our food was very well prepared and we loved it.
Parking is ok. This restaurant is located in a shopping center so random parking is available. The interiror was a little small and could be organized better but that was not so relevant because i was here for the organization of the restaurant.
The customer service was great. We were greeted and seated immediately with some waters. Our order was taken perfectly with no note pad.
We ordered the pink lady roll, a Philadelphia roll and baked mussels. Each came out as they were prepared and each were very fresh and delicious. The rolls were very well made and very flavorful. The bakes mussels were my favorite, so good!
The price was a little high but eveything is expensive right now. The rolls and mussels were worth the price! We will be back to try more rolls here.

MuMu Sushi is one of our family favorite places. The sushi is fresh and everything I have tried I have loved. June (the owner )is so accommodating to all dietary restrictions and the staff are absolutely amazing. Everyone is so kind and love that it’s a family owned business.
