Little spot right near the cruise terminal. Couldn’t be closer. Staff was pleasant service was prompt. The calamari and soup were ho hum but the fish and chips made up for it. Huge portion and delicious flakey fish, one of the better I had In a while. Apparently they do shows during the off season as well. If you don’t wanna walk too far into the city (and up its many hills ) it’s not a bad stop.

Service and atmosphere were great.

Great disappointment on the food. We had the chilled seafood tower. Nothing tasted fresh and everything was overcooked. Lobster meat was completely tasteless and rubbery. Snow crab was cooked to high hell, dry and absolutely tasteless. Mussels same story.

What a shame of a restaurant to call themself steamers when they could barely steam anything proper.

Saving grace was the fries, well seasoned but that was it. Absolutely not worth your hard earn money, head back to your cruise for free lunch.

Visited from Pennsylvania was on the royal Caribbean cruise, and we never actually got to eat but we sat at the bar and enjoyed a few delicious beers. Chuck you are awesome!! And even the rest of the staff we got to chat with! Awesome place!

I recently had the opportunity to visit Steamers Lobster Co. in Saint John, and I must say that while the ship dock ambiance was interesting, my overall experience was quite underwhelming. The service provided was mediocre, and the food itself was rather average.

One particular aspect that left me disappointed was the calamari starter. Despite its hefty price tag of $18 for 9 small pieces, the portion size was shockingly small. It was disheartening to see such a tiny portion for such a high price. Moreover, the flavor of the food was unfortunately lacking. The mussels, in particular, had no discernible flavor and only seemed to taste of butter when dipped in the small bowl provided.

While the ship dock ambiance added a unique touch to the dining experience, it was unfortunate that the service and food did not meet my expectations. As a customer, I believe it is important to provide feedback to help businesses improve their offerings. I hope that Steamers Lobster Co. takes this feedback into consideration and works towards enhancing their food quality and portion sizes.

Overall, my visit to Steamers Lobster Co. in Saint John was a bit of a letdown. I appreciate the effort put into the ship dock ambiance, but the mediocre service and average food left much to be desired. In addition, the seating metal chairs are also very uncomfortable

We drove by the place and I remember thinking “what a dump”. We parked and started googling places to have some decent seafood. This place was one of them and had just opened for the day. The reviews were great so we gave it a chance. No regrets, the food was great and the service was friendly. Next time we’re in town, we’ll be hitting this place up again.

Edit: Came back 6 years later since last vacation. Food is still top notch. The fries are remarkable. Seasoned to perfection. The fish and scallops were cooked expertly. Such good food. It’s worth the price.
But the service we got. My God was it horrendous. Waitress was giving us attitude, never brought us cutlery, and straight up ignored requests. My dad had asked for beer in a bottle. Waitress pointed to a card on the table and turned it towards him. Said “Bottled beer”. He ordered one and she brought a can. She laughed at us when we said our bills would be combined with our partners. She was terrible. Almost ruined the evening if it wasn’t for the food.

We were in town for a romantic getaway and Steamers was recommended by our hotel staff so we were excited to have some great seafood. However we were greatly disappointed in both our food and our service. Perhaps it was because we were there in the evening after a cruise ship departed? Our lobster poutine didn’t have much flavor and the lobster was rather chewy. Hubby had the bacon wrapped scallops. I have had better scallops from Sam’s club. Super chewy and stringy. My lobster roll was also rather chewy. Our waitress came across as not really wanting to be there. I felt this was more of a tourist trap for people who maybe never had seafood before. There are better options in town than this one.

Not the best food but it’s still an experience. The pirate server was very friendly and didn’t steal any food from us!

Overall ok. The chowder was good though i had better, thicker, richer. The oysters were average too, hard to believe you get bigger tastier ones in Ontario. The fish and chips were good. The chocolate cheese was too sweet for my taste, recipe for diabetes sweet. I don’t think I’ll come back, it’s just avera
