Small, relaxed Japanese café serving hearty bowls of traditional noodle soup.

The food was great! I got the garlic chicken hibachi and my boyfriend got the spicy ramen. He LOVED the pork in the ramen. We loved both! However, what stood out to us was the service. Our server was the sweetest and most attentive server ever. The chef came out to ask us how our meal was, which I’ve never had happen before and was so sweet. I could tell the entire staff really wanted to ensure we were enjoying our experience and food. I will def be returning again!

I hadn’t been in in a few years but I stopped in for lunch today and it was just as good, if not better, than I remember! I got the mayu ramen and added spicy paste and I devoured the whole bowl . The food came out quickly and was hot and fresh. The service was incredible, I felt welcomed and super comfortable. 10/10 I love this place!!!!

Honestly this is the best ramen I’ve ever had in my life. This is a family restaurant run by a daughter and her dad. The dad is native from Kyoto, Japan and he hand crafts every broth and even the chili paste for the spicy ramen! I experienced depths of flavor I never knew existed in ramen. I had it for dinner last night and I’m still thinking about it the next morning. Let this review be the reason you go. Everyone should try this place.

My wife and I had a great experience at this restaurant while visiting the Richmond area. We tried a few different items and everything from the food to the service was amazing! Really happy to see smaller authentic places like this succeeding

Good service and atmosphere, but food needs a bit of improvement.
As I walked in, our party was warmly welcomed by the waitress, who was very attentive and friendly. The environment was inviting, and the menu offered a solid variety of ramen and hibachi dishes.
Pros:
The hibachi is definitely a standout. I ordered the dinner portion of the garlic beef hibachi, and the flavors were well balanced. The rice and vegetables mellowed out the boldness of the garlic beef. It also came with a fresh salad and a comforting bowl of soup. The yumyum sauce deserves a special mention: its creamy, sweet-savory profile really brought the dish together.
Cons:
The ramen, however, was a bit too salty for my taste. While some might enjoy the bold flavor, I think it could benefit from pairing with extra white rice or steamed vegetables to balance things out. That said, the noodles had a satisfying chew, and the variety of toppings you can choose to add some nice texture and contrast. Definitely the highlight of the bowl once you finish slurping through it.
If you’re in downtown and craving hibachi, this place is worth a stop.

Not horrible, but only satisfactory. Ramen is fine, $1.5 for half an egg is quite pricey. The rice however, is not fresh, seems have been re-heated for multiple times. Similar to some past reviews, the water smells like bathroom/sewer…

Ramen with no Broth!
First and last time coming here. Went to pick up takeout Ramen, and when I received it saw that their small container was barely half full of broth. I asked if they could finish filling the small container with broth and the chef complained I could buy another container for $8 (after already paying $17. I thought maybe I was tripping and it would fill bowl at home with the noodles and toppings (even though I’ve never received ramen with that little broth). But nope, noodles were twice over the broth and half the toppings was lettuce, some of which was old and black (needless to say I didn’t add in my bowl).
I don’t buy takeout that often so needless to say this was super disappointing and don’t waste your time or money coming here.

Despite the many warnings of low staff on signs inside the restaurant, my ramen came to me steaming hot within 10 minutes in the middle of the lunch rush. The portions were good, with no frilly add ons for this bowl of tonkotsu shoyu ramen. The noodles were fresh, bamboo shoots chewy, and the pork falling apart and delicious. I emptied my whole bowl. The staff were very friendly and appreciative of compliments.

Came here for an early dinner with my daughter (5) and son (4) who both had a grand time. They were patient and accomodating and brought us extra bowls and utensils. My kids split a bowl of the signature Tenka Ramen (and by that I mean they devoured it) as well as some dumplings. I had some takoyaki and the curry ramen – which I’d never seen before – both of which were delicious. The curry ramen was topped with fried chicken which both kids tried a piece of and loved. My daughter decided to do a mixture of both broths (just a little of the curry) because she liked them both, while my son declared that he preferred his own broth (the tenka) to mine.
Service was quick and very friendly. We sat in a little booth, which was perfect. There was also a small amount of bad seating and a few tables. I think they may have had to reduce the indoor seating for staffing reasons since there’s also room in the front that’s currently used for people waiting for pick up orders now. Charming spot though, and right in the middle of the city. Definitely recommend if you’re craving ramen!
