Hair of the Dog is a pretty cool sports bar that verges on being a billiards hall, with 6 fairly well-maintained pool tables and above average pool sticks available. I can’t comment on the food as I haven’t tried it, but the drinks are solid, and they have a good selection of beers and liquors.
The staff are friendly, it’s an easygoing atmosphere—although bordering on divey vs. elevated—and you can play pool, darts, or pinball. They also have both front and back patios for smoking, and have a cigarette vending machine. Overall a pretty good spot on Palm Canyon to hang out with friends.
Update: The food here is pretty mid and not the best. There are far better selections literally just next door at Wrap Houz and the wings at Palm Canyon Roadhouse a far better. In a pinch, it could work, but the star of the show here is definitely the pool tables and the reasonably priced, reasonably extensive spirits and beers selection.

Came in here early on a quiet Thursday eve. Had to fight to catch the attention of the bartender who somehow knew when anyone else approached the bar but not me (I assume because she didn’t know me) (a large group actually left because she never served them either)
This place appealed to me because it’s One of the few remaining spots with a smoking area I can take my drink to and they’re HEAVILY branded as being English. The regulars were very friendly and as a solo female I felt relatively safe (although be aware the parking lot is very dark).
Nothing English about this place. Not sure what the marketing gimmick is.
I’m going to give this place another try on a weekend when there’s hopefully a bartender without selective sight & hearing and see what it’s like when it’s busy !

A fun place to hang out! I’m not sure about the food, my dog wasn’t that good. The owners are extremely friendly as is the staff. It appears to be kinda like a British pub atmosphere, I would’ve love bangers and mash or a toad in the hole dinner, even Shepherd’s pie!!! Yum!

It’s a pretty cool place. Despite being listed as an English pub, it’s sort of a cool billiards hall with a bar. Not very dive-y as it’s too open. Pretty spread out tables, for food and pool. TVs will be playing sports, this time it was The Euros. The restrooms are clean, stocked, and single-room. The service is friendly and the drinks are cold. The pool tables work good but the ATM may pose a bit of a problem, doesn’t always work. I can’t comment on the food, I didn’t order any. I’d recommend this place.

The ol reliable Hair of the Dog. Where do I begin? Locals spot, great bartenders including Jasmine and Jen. Great service, pool tables, affordable drinks. Perfect place to begin your day or end your night. Make sure you try their new house blonde ale. Its fantastic. Cheers.

Visited this bar late on a Thursday and it was buzzing with energy. They had a local band playing live, and the sound was great. The crowd was a mix of locals and tourists, all having a good time. Drinks were reasonably priced, and the bartenders were quick with service despite the busy night. We stayed late, and it was one of the highlights of our trip.

Curt service, short staffed. When asked to make mixed drink, said “no, would have to look up”?? (Old fashioned). No service after that. Would not return or recommend.

Clearly where the locals go. Lots of good people watching. Confusing amount of injuries on the other patrons, roller derby? We appreciated the Touch Tunes and sports being on TV.

Just a very cool sports bar where we brought in our own food for a birthday party. Was told they served food but one of the guests brought in pizza for us and there seem to be no issues. They have darts. They have pool tables, pinball machines, just casual fun. Nothing pretentious about it. Drinks are also very reasonable.

Stopped in for a few. I FOUND THE HAIR OF THE DOG. Huge floor filled with games and pool tables. Recommend for college aged kids that didn’t go to college, ha. Kind of a local place but I feel like lots of visitors probably come here because there aren’t many bars in the area. I say that because most of the other places around are specific to a certain type of patrons and this is just a classic British pub.
