I was excited to try this place because they offer vegan and vegetarian options. I ordered the Vegan Frenchie (spinach, tofu cream cheese, and caramelized onions) and expected a positive experience.
Unfortunately, it was disappointing from the start. When I asked what vegan sides were available, the employee—though kind—was unsure and listed non-vegan options like macaroni and potato salad. When I asked for fruit, I was told they didn’t have any available, even though they clearly sell packaged fruit in the cooler. Eventually, I settled on the tomato and cucumber salad, which came plain with no dressing.
When my sandwich arrived, it was missing the caramelized onions entirely. I went back to let them know, and they said they’d “caramelize them now,” which meant waiting again. The sandwich I’d already taken a bite of was taken to the back, which didn’t feel right to me.
I explained my concerns at the register — not just about the missing ingredient but also about the lack of knowledge around vegan options. The cashier apologized and mentioned a chickpea salad I hadn’t even been offered earlier. I ultimately asked for a refund, which they gave me for the sandwich only, not the drink.
I appreciate that they tried to be polite, and the place was clearly busy and well-liked, but if you’re going to advertise vegan items, staff should understand what that means and how to accommodate it. It was a frustrating experience, and I won’t be returning.

This is a great spot to get a bagel in East Meadow hands down. It has always been my go to for quick breakfast for nearly 20 years. However, I koved out of New York and went back to visit family. I stopped in for breakfast and was quite surprised. The place was not packed as it used to be and the quality was significantly different. I was surprised at how high the prices were yet the quality of the food went down. I paid $28 for 3 bagles!!! It was a pretty big let down for something I was craving for a while. If you’re looking for a regular bagel with cream cheese go for it but anything else, don’t bother.

Everyone knows New York bagels are the best, so I introduced my boyfriend to them when visiting the area. We have went to many new places to eat while on Long Island, but this is the only place we’ve returned to every day. It’s definitely a favorite. The bagel and cream cheese choices are plentiful, taste great, and the service can’t be beat. When you see a place where the owner is there working every day and there are many regulars, you know you’ve found something extra good. We’ve already made arrangements for shipping to Florida. Highly recommend.

This place needs some remodeling soon! Old and run down place… especially the bathroom! Classic bagel n egg sandwiches were fair… nothing to get you to come back for more. Employees could be friendlier. Music was too loud…

Good bagels…Bad customer Service!
Second visit in a row this summer and overcharged. Signage quotes one price or a young worker says there is a daily deal price,. but the cashier rings up a significantly higher price, always with some excuse. “That deal is not for this day OR Monday deal is not on a holiday (like today’s Labor Day) OR that does not aplly to certain bagels.” None of which is brought to our attention when ordering or listed on signage. We plus another elderly customer both tried to address the issue at the same time to no avail. Cashier respone was I can take back the bagels or do nothing about the price.
As a lifelong local resident it is disappointing to see a trusted business pull the bait-n-switch tactics. Strike two! The next bagel craving will likely involve giving another small business a chance.

First went here in 2007 on a trip from Florida. For sixteen years I’ve been dreaming of having these bagels again! SIXTEEN YEARS! It was definitely worth the wait. These bagels are amazing and the cream cheese is the best.

The first time I went to this place a year ago their bagels were yummy. They put a good amount of cream cheese & the bagels didn’t taste or feel stale.
Recently since June when I got bagels from there they were hard, stale and weren’t oozing with cream cheese. The bagels were also over toasted and they tasted burnt

I visit Bagelicious every now and then and I’m almost always pleased with the food and service. My bagel today was just as good as I expected. The service however, was severely lacking. The Latino guys who work there seem pleasant, but everyone else makes it extremely clear that they don’t want to be there and don’t want to help you, which is unfortunate. I had planned to get a dozen bagels, but changed my mind and decided to get out of there as quickly as possible after observing the hostility from the staff.
