Wanted some Chinese food just to get a break from the New Mexico style vibe and found this place close by our rental. Walked in to find out they only serve Take Out orders. Mind you, it’s a restaurant that can accommodate about 70 people. No servers. If you wanted to sit down and eat your takeout served meal you could but it’s a self service experience. They had a counter with water and glasses, utensils, plates, etc. You had to serve yourself. Hey, I actually didn’t mind the setup but it did catch me by surprise. I imagine they’re shorthanded and found this to be a better way. Ok, the food… I ordered Beef Lo Mein and the wife sesame chicken, her go-to. Her meal was good but not great, my meal was tasteless and the beef was chewy. We also had spring rolls (2) and it was extremely greasy. Not the experience we were expecting. Others that were there reacted differently (favorable) to the food. Maybe you will too. 3

Very friendly and attentive staff. The lunch specials were all under 10$ but the portions were still huge, and we are glad to have enough for another meal. Delicious and so hot and fresh you couldn’t eat it right away. We will be back!

Went with my wife on October 27. She had Chicken Chow Mein, and I had Seafood Delight (shrimp, lobster, scallops, fish and steamed vegetables). The taste of my dish was on the level of a top notch Chinese restaurant. The sauce had a delicious buttery taste and the seafood was soft and tender. My wife agreed with me, saying that she found her Chow Mein delicious. The prices were very reasonable. Even though the restaurant does not look fancy inside, it is very clean and the employees are courteous.

The staff was great! The food is absolutely fantastic!
I had the crispy duck. Crispy on the outside and oh so moist meat! You have also got to try the sauce that comes with the duck. Yum yum! My husband had the seafood plate. Naturally I had to sample from his plate, which was great too!

The order was wrong. Didnt know til we got back to the hotel. Not all the order but specifically the soups, the vegteble dish was missing ingredients aswell as the caroots were burnt . Also the cups for the soups had leaked and the lid was compromised. Its christmas eve we brokedown on route to see family in utah. .

Don’t waste your money on the lousy food. The egg rolls were smothered in grease. The wonton soup was not any wonton soup I ever saw with dumplings and uncleaned vegetables . The rice was mushy. Everything went into the trash what a waste of $36.

Hunan has delicious food but currently offers takeout only. There is no table service or buffet — and it closes really early at 8 p.m. even on Saturday. Most of the tables are roped off but you can sit down and eat your “takeout” food. Really bizarre situation. Apparently big shortage of employees.

Favorite Chinese in Taos. Great service! Excellent Covid practices. Still super hot takeout. As a local we go to Hunan quite often. We love the lunch menu. Yum!

Nice Asian restaurant. Very reasonable prices. Lots of food for lunch and dinner. Staff is usually nice and helpful. Except when they’re about to close or an hour before closing. I’ve walked in around 7 and got a very harsh eye roll and sigh that made me feel like I should just leave. Overall I love the restaurant and the staff is good except the hostess when she’s tired. I would recommend trying.

1. Chicken Fried Rice
2. Hunan Chicken
3. Black Pepper Chicken
The Black Pepper Chicken and the Chicken Fried Rice were the best items. The Hunan chicken was not upto the mark.
The restaurant is conveniently situated in the city a bit away from the Plaza. Ample seating space. However, they had no service available. You can either have To Go or dine there in To Go boxes as no active service available.
