Reviews
Very chaotic atmosphere , and extremely stressful overall not pleasant at all unfortunately, very loud
its self serve so you order at the Kiosk, then they hand you a ticket , then you wait for the ticket number show up on an electronic monitor, which is fine …. but food takes forever to come out . We waited for over 40 mins for just dosa , veg Manchurian and medu vada . Wanted to order bhel puri but the were out of chaat items
,had high hopes after reading reviews but the food was mediocre at best . Veg Manchurian came out cold, soggy very salty ! We couldn’t eat it.
medu vada was lumpy, usually medu vada is light and spongy crispy, this was lumpy . sambar was good but over all quantity of chutney & sambar are very little , you barely get a 1/4 cup of sambar and prolly 1/2 tbsp of chutney .
Idk if tonight something was off or not but food didn’t taste good.
Staff is nice , polite but it’s very chaotic atmosphere
There’s no one that cleans the table after you are done ,
After we were done there was a family hovering over us for the table , we wiped it down , they sat right down right away , I didnt get a chance to finish drinking my water .
We made the trip all the way from apex , sadly won’t be returning.
This restaurant is easily one of the best vegetarian spots in the Triangle. It’s a simple, no‑frills place, but it’s impressively neat, clean, and welcoming. The pricing is refreshingly reasonable—almost nostalgic—reminding you of a time when you could take your family out for a satisfying meal without worrying about the bill.
The food quality stands out. Freshly made(unlike many others nearby), flavors are well-balanced, not overly spicy, and thoughtfully prepared. The menu offers a mix of timeless favorites along with creative variations that make it easy to indulge whatever you’re craving.
I sampled several dishes, and each one delivered:
Dosa – Crisp, well-made, and comforting.
Broccoli Kabab – A pleasant surprise with great texture and seasoning.
Chole Bhatura – Light, flavorful, and not greasy, which is rare.
Veg Manchurian (Dry) – Perfectly seasoned with just the right amount of crunch.
Irani Chai – A standout addition. Smooth, aromatic, and brewed with the signature richness that makes Irani-style tea so beloved. It’s the perfect way to end the meal or simply enjoy on its own.
Overall, this is the kind of place you keep coming back to—reliable, affordable, and consistently delicious. A must-visit for anyone looking for quality vegetarian food in the area.
We noticed the crowd at Uttar Dakshin while driving by and decided to stop in for lunch this Saturday. There was a short wait, which is expected for a busy and popular restaurant.
The ordering kiosk was simple to use, and we were impressed by the huge selection of vegetarian Indian dishes. We ordered several items to try, including Hariyali Paneer, Gobi Manchurian (Dry), Malabar Parotta with Kurma, and a couple of different Dosas.
Everything came out fresh, hot, and full of flavor. The Malabar Parotta with Kurma was especially nostalgic and reminded me of my college days. My wife loved the Gobi Manchurian, one of the kids said the paneer dish was the best, and the other declared it the best sambar he has had with dosa.
If you’re looking for authentic South Indian and vegetarian Indian food, especially great dosa, sambar, and street-style Indo-Chinese dishes, this place is definitely worth visiting.
So happy to have Uttar Dakshin in the area. We’ll definitely be coming back!
The ambience was perfect for a birthday celebration — warm, clean, and family-friendly. The staff was very polite and attentive, which made our celebration even more special.
If you’re looking for a great pure veg restaurant for parties or family gatherings, Uttar to Dakshin is definitely a must-visit. Highly recommended!
Veg Manchurian – taste good but mushy and very soft
Veg fried rice – Taste good, quantity can be deceiving.
Veg cutlets – star dish, very good
Malai paneer – good.
Irani Tea is very nice.
Having salt on table would be great.
The quantitys are not regular size, you would need to order 2 for regular portion of food.
Should increase the Quantity atleast by 20%.
Orders take time, can be improved
The owners are good, took feedbacks for improvement.
Really glad to see vegetarian restaurants open in this area.
We ordered the Upma and the Mysore Masala Dosa, and both were hits. The flavors were authentic and perfectly balanced—everything tasted fresh and was cooked to perfection. To wash it all down, we had the Chai and the Filter Coffee, both of which were absolutely delicious and provided that perfect morning pick-me-up.
