I’ve been coming here for years and I will never stop. This place is consistently amazing – one of those rare spots that only gets better the longer you know it. I still remember when they first started out, and it’s kept that same personal, welcoming energy. The owner is seriously one of the nicest people you’ll meet — always checking in to make sure everything is perfect.
The food is made fresh to order, and you can taste it in every bite. The noodles are made in-house on their machine – super thin, perfectly chewy, and never overcooked. The broth is rich and flavorful, like it’s been simmering for hours, and the pork belly is absolutely melt-in-your-mouth delicious – perfectly tender with just the right amount of crisp on the edges.
We also had sake, which paired perfectly with the meal –smooth and served just right. And I can’t leave out the octopus balls – they are incredible. Golden and crispy on the outside, soft and perfectly cooked inside, never dry or doughy. Easily some of the best takoyaki I’ve had anywhere.
Even the presentation is beautiful – when the food hits the table, it just looks right. The ramen bowls are picture-perfect, the toppings arranged beautifully, and everything feels carefully made. This place never disappoints and is one of my all-time favorites. If you haven’t been yet, go – it’s a gem worth becoming a regular at.

I had the teriyaki chicken Dumburi , decent for the price, chicken tasted a bit weird , probably a commercial frozen product Would try tofu if I came again. Large portions I saw other dining options in the area but at a higher price.

The four different udons were delicious! The owner is very friendly and came out to ask about the quality and taste. The noodles were made fresh in the noodle shop! Many varieties.

My Cousin, who lives in Northern California, said we need to stop in Santa Rosa at Ippinn Udon while on our road trip from Washington to FL. He said it’s his absolute favorite. It did not disappoint. It was amazing! The staff were very kind. The food was delicious and fresh. They had really good sized portions as well. We even had enough to take with us on our road trip. This is definitely our new favorite place in Santa Rosa. Thank you Ippinn Udon for making our road trip extra special.

This time I ordered the tonkotsu. It was really good and perfect for the cold weather. Previously I’ve had the Ippin Ban Ban, which is still the best one I’ve tried. There are a lot of other stores around this noodle shop, so finding parking during busy times can be really difficult. You can buy homemade chili sauce here as well.

This establishment markets themselves like a marugame but is really a Chinese fusion restaurant that offers udon noodles, where most of their dishes (mala broth, chicken teriyaki, green onion pancake) are more Chinese leaning. If you’re looking for an authentic Japanese restaurant please look elsewhere.

The food was just ok, just because something is made “in-house” doesn’t always mean that it’s good.

From their website “The process is built for speed. You grab a tray at the counter, ask for either thin or thick cut udon noodles, then move down the cafeteria line requesting toppings. At the end of the line, you add sauces and condiments like togarashi, panko crumbs and house fermented chili paste, pay your bill, grab cutlery from a nifty chopstick dispenser, and sit down to slurp.”

We took the trays, lined up, placed our order… and expected to have our food ready by the time we check out but you just pay and sit down … with your empty tray (?) and then someone brings your food over. Strange, nonetheless we won’t be coming back here.

The udon and ramen are so good. The texture is hard to beat. The noddles come very fast. In and out of the restaurant within half an hour with a satisfied stomach ☺️

Fresh made and high quality. It is rare to find house made dumplings, noodles, etc. in Santa Rosa. The abundant portions of food are delicious, very flavorful, but not loaded with salt, and high quality. Great service and pride of craftsmanship is apparent. We will be back again and again.

Amazingly fresh, clean flavors. The tofu curry broth with ramen was so flavorful and rich and the noodles are handmade. This dish was pure perfection! The shrimp and green onion dumplings are simple and those are the only two ingredients inside a perfectly executed dumpling. This little gem in Santa Rosa has warmth and style and their food has authentic flavors of Japan with minimally processed ingredients. I couldn’t be happier! Try their house made hot sauce- it’s a perfect addition to dumplings and service is very attentive, warm and friendly for this order-at-the-counter style restaurant.

Dishonest Billing – Watch Your Receipt!

Check your receipts every time! I came to Ippinn Udon in Santa Rosa and ordered milk tea — but when the bill came, I noticed I was charged for Aladdin Nigori sake ($10.99) instead.

When I asked the waiter for the receipt, he first didn’t give it to me. After I insisted, he handed it over, and when I questioned the charge, he said “the boss made it,” then pretended to call the boss. He didn’t actually ask any questions on the phone and just handed me back $6 in cash.

This felt dishonest and unprofessional. It left me wondering if this happens to other customers too.
Attached is the photo showing the milk tea I ordered and the receipt showing sake instead.

I hope management takes this seriously — customers deserve honest service and clear billing
