We waited a decent amount of time which wasn’t a problem. I’d say about 20/30 minutes.
At first glance, the food looked presentable, And I got a three meat plate, The ribs were really hard overcooked with little to no smoke flavor, The chicken, extra dry, burnt, kind of crisp. The sausage was GOOD!
They had a little lady that was a server and she was really sweet service was amazing.
Now on to the restrooms, HORRIBLE !
What’s that saying? Dirty trays on the airplane mean poor engine maintenance?
If the restrooms are unkept, I wonder what that kitchen’s like.
They were packed so we had to sit on the patio!!! Flies galore! And understand that’s out of your control, but maybe move the trash bin somewhere that flies invading peoples food.
Annnd, the building on the inside, just looks so rundown!
Potato salad, beans and French fries were all so good! Reasonably priced and the service was great!!! They came to refill the awesome sweet tea before our cups were halfway (each time )!!
We got the buttermilk pie for dessert later and we can’t wait to try it! The portions were so large we didn’t have room but don’t want to miss out on trying it! Can’t wait to come back and try the jalapeno sausage and pecan pie!
Y’all go and go early to try this place! It’s a keeper!!! We forgot to take photos… the food was gone too fast!
Parking under trees and walking across pretty grassy spot, we savored aromas as we walked up to the place and noted the ample covered outdoor eating area overlooking the adjacent lot. We stood in line only a short time, checking out the posted menu. 1 – 2 or 3 meat with 2 sides ranged from 9-13$. I got brisket, slaw and potato salad. Our friends got jalapeño sausage with brisket and chicken, pinto beans and slaw. 2 different BBQ sauces were brought to the table with our plates. I preferred the more vinegary one in the yellow squirt bottle, and Mr Bill liked the other in the red squirt bottle. But, NO NEED to use any sauce — this meat was absolutely melt in your mouth. Sides were gooood. White bread was provided. This hole in the wall closes when they run out of food, just like those fancy ones in Austin, so phone first to make sure they’re open!!
Inexpensive, good old southern BBQ.
