After seeing a post on Facebook, I had to see for myself. This place is cozy and so good! We walked in after an hour drive and we were not disappointed! Amazing food and great service! From the fried mozzarella to seafood lasagne and an espresso crème brûlée…. Wonderful!! Highly recommend Mom Chaffe’s and do hope to go back again soon!

Food was expensive for me but it is worth the cost. They offer several off menu specials each night. Staff were very attentive and pleasant. Ambiance is dark and inside was tight. Hours are limited.

I have always always wanted to try your restaurant… Friday night we happen to be in your area… Totally didn’t think about making a reservation has this was on a whim, however the gentleman that greeted us was so kind and accommodating and found a table for us… The food was amazing! The creme brulee was the best I have ever had! Our server, Molly, was on point and very very thorough… We definitely plan on being regulars! Thank you for welcoming us into your home!

Our first visit. Friends we were with visit frequently.
The ambiance is great! Old school vibe. Reminds me of an Italian Restaurant throwback from one of NYC boroughs. Loved it.
We were seated behind the bar in a quiet secluded area that seated four. It was private and we felt special.
Our appetizers were excellent. The coconut shrimp was crispy and delish! We also ordered the green fried hot peppers with mozzarella. Be warned as the peppers are extremely hot. If you like heat you’ll love it. Mozzarella was fresh and soft and complimented the heat of the peppers nicely.
We had the linguini in white clam sauce. Pasta was cooked perfectly. The clams were fresh and sauce was a bit creamier than I’m used to however the taste was really good. Squeezed some lemon in it and it bumped up the flavor.
The only negative remark I’ll make is this. While our server was friendly enough I don’t think he has had thorough training. Needs some extra guidance. Wasn’t proactive in noticing we all needed utensils for our entrees as well as a bowl for the clam shells. We did ask the bus girl for a bowl and she returned with one that was the size of a small ice cream bowl. She had no idea what we were using it for. But should have. Didn’t say a word but three of us strategically placed our clams one on top of the other to form a tower of clam shells. Was about seven inches high. And felt like we were playing a game of Jenga. Neither she nor the waiter noticed because if they had they would have brought a proper size bowl for the clam shells which is a given in an Italian Restaurant.
I know it is difficult to get help today but training properly goes a long way for a good customer experience.
I will return and hope that if this is read by the owners they welcome the feedback and will utilize the comment for training.

Very hard not to enjoy a meal here. Food is always better than expected. Personal favorite is the Veal Parm. My wife loves the crab cakes in a lobster sauce. Drinks are made well and hit the spot. Tried the Lynchburg tea, delightful. New apple this last visit, fried mozzarella. So fresh tasting. Service was great.

Booked a reservation a week in advance. We have heard about Mom Chaffes’s for years and finally found time to go! We were not disappointed, small romantic atmosphere. All drinks and food were delicious. Moscow mule and Red Sangria to drink. Brushetta to start. not pictured are the house salads which were also very good, the parmeasan peppercorn dressing was very good! I had the veal special which I loved. Both that and the chicken parm were HUGE pieces of meat. For dessert I had Crème Brûlée, absolutely perfect and completed the entire experience . our server Dylan was very attentive and friendly

The restaurant is nearly 100 years old, the ambience is very cozy and in an adorable building. It’s a little bit on the fancier side, but at no point did it feel like anything was pretentious. However, the restaurant is kind of small so I see why they recommend reservations. The server was fantastic and very patient with our large group. The food is absolutely phenomenal. The garlic bread that you get before your meal is insane. I could’ve eaten that alone for my whole meal. The wine selection is fantastic. The Rubiolo Chianti was a perfect complement to my ravioli with meat sauce. Absolutely everything was exceptional and I would love to come back again.

The food was amazing, I ordered the seafood lasagna and it was absolutely delicious! We had to order desserts as well once we found out they were made in house (and recommended to us by adjacent diners) We WILL be coming back!
