The ribs here were top tier. But the last time I came here they just weren’t as good. Which is fine you can expect quality fluctuations. This time I ordered the ribs combo with BBQ chicken. And the chicken was some of the worst I’ve had. It looks old, it was smothered in BBQ sauce. Seemed like they were trying to hide to state of the chicken. Regardless it’s not like anyone asked if the food was good or came to check on us at any point. This is one of those self serve restaurants. The only thing they don’t make you do is carry out your plates.

LOVED the ribs and the honky tonk vibes. Portion sizes could be a little bigger but overall it’s a decent value for good tasting food. Did not love the $3, 2oz “side” of coleslaw. The restaurant is attached to a pretty nice dive bar on the other side of the restaurant, might check it out there next time. Restaurant was empty and it was still pretty warm inside, could have used some AC or fans. Overall chill spot with yummy food and great country vibes.

So I went here for thr first time for dinner on Saturday night and enjoyed it.
Since it was my first time there I felt a bit like a fish out of water as this place feels like a mix of bar and fast food. When we walked in I thought you had to wait to be seated but you can sit where you want. You can get a menu at your table but you order at food at the bar. Also, since I ordered soda you get that yourself at the fountain or a can/bottle in the fridge. You can also pay before you eat or after your done.
All the staff were helpful when explaining who the place works. They were all nice as well and that was a plus.
I had a Philly Cheesesteak with fries and the sandwich was huge. Great portion size there. The fries were ok. Date had a half size ribs with a baked potato and she really liked it. My friend had a burger and that did look a bit ordinary and he said it was ok.
You have to get used to how they do things, but overall for the price and what we got I’d recommend it.

This was my first time coming here. The service is super quick. The food was amazing. I ordered a swiss burger with lettuce and tomato and ketchup. I would come here again when I have more time to try their wings and ribs.

Horrible experience!! I cannot believe we paid 100+ dollars for this food. The food was extremely cold and stale. It looked like they just threw the food in a container and sent it out. Wings were dry, cheesesteak had no cheese or anything just meat and bread tossed in a container. Fried shrimp burnt and over cooked. Cheese fries were rubber. I hope we dont get sick. Very disappointed!

The Jim Dandy experience is ten out of ten!!! James, one of the amazing human beings who runs this family-oriented business, just set up catering for a birthday event at my home. Everything was perfectly set up, on time, tasty, and organized. There was great communication from the ordering phase all the way to clean-up where he took care of everything. Everyone knows the food is always amazing but don’t sleep on their catering abilities. My family was able to celebrate together without the stress of cooking all day because of their superb execution! Goooo James!

Well done baby back ribs and chicken wings with other bar food and Northern NJ favorites. Connected to a locals bar and a nice casual atmosphere. Great at fast casual, and the quality is far superior than the popular chains.
