CHICKEN FRIED CHICKEN HELL YEAH!!! The sausage gravy will really bone up your sausage . The outer breaded crust on the chicken was so crisp and flavorful but magically did not dry out the inside of the chicken. The cook needs a raise!!! I ordered my eggs over medium and it was on point with my potatoes. The egg was strong enough to hold its own and not have that gross slime an under cooked egg would have yet still got the runny yoke most of us love to coat those precious taters. Im a texture person and everything on my plate was perfect in every way. A lot of attention was put into this meal and it has not gone unnoticed. Thank you kitchen person for making my belly and mouth happy.

I love West Side Diner! The coffee is always hot, the environment is lax, and the prices are GOOD—especially for a college town. The service can be slow, but that’s only when the place is packed (and for good reason!) I used to be a server somewhere else so I totally understand when the staff might not be able to aid me right away. Their timing is still very reasonable though. A little patience is key. All the staff are very friendly. If you are concerned about large crowds, go for an early morning breakfast (7am or so) and it will be a more peaceful environment. Good, lively place during the daytime!

My husband and I enjoy grabbing breakfast here. The waffles are a 10/10 and you can’t be their prices. I’d recommend visiting during the week between 10am-4pm when they are least busy

Had the eggs Benedict. Even though the menu says poached egg they fried it. I told them what was wrong with my food and sent it back only to receive another round of eggs Benedict with fried eggs instead of poached. The fried potatoes were under cooked. The coffee was see thru. The one bright spot was our waitress. She was polite, courteous, and as helpful as she could be. Parking in the lot is extremely close together. If you drive an oversized vehicle or are disabled like I am be very careful in parking spot choice.

Overall, the food doesn’t disappoint. The servers are usually super friendly. The owner was not. She was very rude, and that speaks poorly on her business. Other than that, I was pleasantly surprised.

We were seated at a table by the hostess and my son was 5 minutes away with his family and my granddaughter who was celebrating her 13th birthday. I asked for some coffee and was told because my party wasn’t there no coffee and we were removed from the table. I’ve never been removed from a table before and I’m 68 years old. If you have a policy that if the party isn’t completely there why was we seated?

This is a good place to grab breakfast on the west side. The food is solid and portions are excellent for the price. I’ve had several omelets and other dishes and there isn’t a bad one. They even allowed some additions and substitutions.

Previously, I rated this restaurant 5 stars, but I do not stand by that rating anymore.
After multiple issues during visits, I made a complaint. After speaking to Maria. I was told a free meal would be provided on my next visit for all the trouble. That was not what happened.
I have provided pictures of cheeseburgers that were served on different visits. I would rather pay a few dollars more and get an actual hamburger patty than to get 3/4 to 1/2 of one.
